Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

[There is no feeling of dread here that's just your imagination!]

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

[Ariel hasn't really spoken to this kid, but that display's pretty hard to miss. Hey, A for effort, though, step one worked? She thinks.

[ Oh, she's...Monarch recognizes her from the showdown with Esme. ]

[ He is not all right. Just self-conscious. ]

Well, hey, you're pretty good with that whip, huh?

[...Well, in a way.]

Ah... You know, the first time I trained with Rei, I just threw my sword. Just, whooosh! Right across the field.

Practice was that complicated?

[ Trying to think of reasons why a sword would be used as a projectile and, nope, blank. Which implies something else was going on. ]

Not really, just, um...

Well, see, Rei told me to give it all I got or something and instinct took over and I just sort of... threw it? It seemed to make more sense when I was doing it. [She laughs a bit, rubbing the back of her head.] At least you actually had a goal with your whip and you totally succeeded!

[Commiserating helps, right?]

[ .....It would be rude to point anything out about any of those sentences, wouldn't it.

Monarch gets the spirit of her comments, though, and smiles. Oh. He sees. She is trying to make him feel better! Just knowing that's what she is about does the trick.

And there we go. Weapon, untangled! ]

Impulses are strange, aren't they.

[ He feels...weirdly at home with the whip. Improving his dexterity, yes, but the part where you raise it and then smack it into somebody...

But that doesn't make any sense. As far as he knows, he's a normal boy (albeit one who went on a not-yet-remembered adventure, of some sort). Why would he have muscle memory for a whip? ]
