cancry | Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

[There is no feeling of dread here that's just your imagination!]

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

I was thinking less basic hierarchy of needs and more...oh, how to put it. Well, it could be detrimental to your goals, your social standing like friendships, could lead you down a path where how you go about getting what you want is far more harmful than getting what you want.

But yes, also detrimental to your health. How do you feel about asking for healing when you need it?

My goals are to get stronger, and if people can't understand that then I don't need them.

[The fact that this sounds terribly lonely is sort of lost on Sword, yes.]

If I need healing, I'll get healing.

And how do you define strength?

[There's the briefest moment where Sword hesitates, though he's not really sure why.]

...does it matter? You'll just argue with me.

I'm only asking questions, Sword. None of us know who we are, what we wanted in life. We're only starting to regain some brief memories of our lives. Just saying you want to be stronger, well, in life, that could be something potentially easily measured, but in death? Is it so wrong to examine what it means?

It's pointless. You're attempting to get philosophical over something that doesn't need it, to someone who doesn't care. I want to get stronger. I'll know when I reach that point.

And if you get to that point and discover the strength you're looking for isn't hucking an odd sword into a tree, perhaps you'll care. [A shrug.] Some of us like philosophy.

Well I don't. What's the point in it, anyway? Thinking about things when you could just do them and be done.

Sometimes one prefers to think about what must be done before doing.

If you need to spend hours thinking about what needs to be done before you do it, let someone else make the decisions.

Oh? [He blinks owlishly, laying a hand on his chest.] Hours, you say? Whoever said hours?

Remind me to never let you buy a car if you cannot spend any amount of time deliberating on choices. Then again, a car isn't a sword, so I suppose it is of no use to you.

Buy a what?

[A kahr?]

A vehicle. A mode of transportation.

Why not just use a horse?

A horse doesn't have heated leather seats, a sun roof, air conditioning, room for a family of five, built in entertainment systems, a radio, and more cupholders than you would know what to do with.

All of that means nothing to me.

Think of it as a carriage, but one that can move under its own power. And then...plenty of extra things to make the ride safer and more comfortable.

Why bother with any of that when a carriage works just as well?

Because it's safer and more comfortable, and you don't have to worry about the feeding and care of a living animal for it?

How is that safer? It sounds like you're more distracted than anything.

Not any more distracted than you would be driving a carriage with horses--

[He pinches the bridge of his nose. Inhales.] Right. No. Off topic. My original point is that you seem to be someone who does not do decisions. That you skip the decision-making process altogether.

No, I just skip the dancing around the subject.

Weighing choices is hardly dancing around a subject.
