Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

[There is no feeling of dread here that's just your imagination!]

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

Yes, actually, I don't wish to grievously injure you in a sparring match.

Goodness, it needn't be a grievous injury.

You know what I mean, Chiron. I won't hold back if that's what concerns you, but I am not going to use this as a thinly veiled excuse to attempt to double-kill you.

Not that I would blame you if you did, but I cannot very well test any healing magics without something to heal. I'll give myself a papercut if it concerns you so much.

Oh? Well then. I confess I am likely not as skilled as we both recall, but I can still give it a go.

As you wish. [He twirled the sword lightly in his hand, taking a calm and composed fighting stance.]

I'm prepared whenever you are.

All right. [Scythe! Out! Gonna do a swing.]

Go.

[oho, not much warning, huh. so that's how it's gonna be.]

[well then, he's gonna duck right under that swing and come back with a slash of his sword aimed at Chiron's shoulder.]

[listen any advantage he can get son

He pulls his shoulder back, aside, and though the blade misses flesh, it manages to cut into fabric. A close one. Just as rapidly, the fabric is no longer there, with Chiron a few feet to the left. He jabs this time, with the scythe, just to see if he can hit.]

[There was, almost, something uncomfortably familiar about this. But the change in weaponry on both sides was enough to differentiate matters, and made it a challenge besides.]

[The scythe just barely clipped Phoenix's arm, perhaps a fraction of a second too slow on a dodge. That was fine, a scratch or two would be nothing to concern himself with. The scythe was impractically large, leaving close range the better course of action; considering that, Phoenix darted forward in an attempt to get past the scythe's range and within reach of his sword.]

[It's a frankly ridiculous size, and though he moves it easier than he has any right to, it isn't as though it's air. He dismisses it in a tinkling of crystal--and resummons it such that the handle is safely in both hands across his chest to help block anything incoming. He attempts another warp, straight backwards to open some space, but stop short. Didn't check his surroundings first and is now backed against a tree.

Well. He'll just have to deal with it.]
