Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

[There is no feeling of dread here that's just your imagination!]

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

[Ruin just laughs, guiding his horse around in a slightly tighter circle, bringing her down to a trot as they move around the other man.]

Oh c'mon... we're supposed to be training, not spectating~

[Oh? What did someone mention him? He instinctively glances around to see if anyone in particular stands out or seems to be looking in their direction but... ]

Yeah 'm Ruin. We haven't met yet.

[So he swings a leg over while his steed is still walking along and pushes off the stirrup as he dismisses her, smoothly transitioning from standing to moving in the same direction. Then he closes the distance to offer Sword a handshake.]

[And Sword will give a very brief handshake, because touching people is...stressful.]

Sword. Lion mentioned you, said you were the rider between the two of you.

Sword?

[Y'know what? He's just gonna roll with it.]

Pretty straightforward then? But uh, yeah? I think I'm the only one that knows how to ride...

I wanted to see what you could do. I hope that's alright.

[Sword is. Extremely straightforward.]

I also wanted to get a look at your weapon.

[If anyone thought for even a second that Ruin wasn't going to make that dirty they're mad. He smirks, cocking a brow suggestively.]

Not even gonna buy a guy dinner first?

[The smirk widens into a grin and he laughs, clearly amused by himself even if Sword isn't. But he draws the Lance to hand and rolls it over his fingers to rotate around to offer Sword the haft of the weapon.]

So I'm guessing you're some sort of fighter?

[swordofajerk]

[Sword just rolls his eyes as he takes the haft of the weapon, though he's oddly unsure about it for some reason.]

The only thing I remember is training. I'd hope I'm some sort of fighter.

Well then you're probably gonna be fine when shit, inevitably, hits the fan.

[It's okay Sword... Ruin feels strangely uncomfortable with you touching the Lance too. Not like he doesn't trust Sword but.... almost as though he doesn't trust... the weapon?

It's just a weapon, Ruin. Calm down.]

I'd hope so.

[Hm, yeah, he does not like this weapon and he's handing it back now.]

Does it feel like that every time another Executor holds a weapon other than their own?

[Ruin takes it quickly, sending it back to... wherever it resides when he doesn't need it, but he shakes his head a little.]

I dunno, actually? I've never held someone else's? It might be because mine has my crest. It's some sort of family heirloom or something, I think. Same with Lion's.

Huh. Is it the same "crest"?

Oh! Goddess, no. [He actually blushes really hard at that. UM EXCUSE?! That's his uh... his... boy that he kisses sometimes!? No they're not from the same family!!]

It's... I don't know everyone seems to have memories that vary a lot, like... everyone from every world ends up here. And we just happen to be the same, I think.

[Weird reaction, but whatever.]

That would explain the bone-lances.

[Ruin frowns for a moment, looking distinctly grossed out, then he resummons the Lance to look at it more closely. Gosh... those could be...

Did he mention that it moves, Sword? because it's definitely flexing those weird little claw tips.]

I hadn't even thought of that.... What the hell?

[He didn't, and he is super not cool with that flexing and is ignoring it!]

How do you not notice what your own weapon is made of?

I... was really kind of just telling myself it had to be something less.....

Fair enough, I can't blame you for, uh, that. But it twitched.

[It weirds him out too, dude. It's fine.

[Yeah, even Sword feels bad for this guy.]

At least you use it like an actual lance.

What's that mean?

[He appreciates the sympathy, Sword, really.]

Lion uses his as a glaive or a halberd. It's annoying.

Ah... yeah I guess he does. It's not made for the same sort of damage.

Is it really that annoying?

It is for me. I couldn't tell you why, though.

[Of course, maybe it's something else, but he's assuming it's just Improper Weapon Usage.]

That's the annoying part if you ask me but.... you get used to it eventually. Trust me, it's better if you don't know why.
