Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

[There is no feeling of dread here that's just your imagination!]

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

[ Monarch shakes his head, which sets his mop of hair floofing in the breeze. ]

This wasn't it....

Are you sure don't feel anything at all?

[ Rei looks visibly disappointed. ]

I was so sure we were really on to something...

[ Monarch looks disappointed too, but rallies for Rei. ]

Your logic is sound. I just might not have remembered the right thing, yet.

... Mm. Hopefully. I keep forgetting because it feels like we've remembered so much, but we're still all working things out, aren't we?

[ And not just about their memories. ]

Do you want to try again, or should we figure something else out?

[ourtomorrow]

[ Monarch lifts his whip to indicate it. ] Practicing what I know I can do is probably more useful. Until I remember more.

[ He's really got...nothing to go on in those memories. Most of the longest one is taken up with being confused and resentful.

And he doesn't want to use any powers that came from feelings like that. ]

Right. Sticking to what we know is probably going to be best for us.

[ But she still wants to be helpful, so... ]

Maybe we could try sparring a little?

[ourtomorrow]

You're okay with it?

[ Like, he killed an Authority with this whip after lion traded crits all thread, stop shouldering everything yourself, stupid child. He would be lying if he said he wasn't a little nervous about sparring with it.

But that's all the more reason to practice, right? He knows he can cause damage. What he needs, for confidence, is control. ]

Of... course I am?

[ She sort of squints at Monarch, not quite sure if this is a joke or not. ]

Why wouldn't I be?

[ourtomorrow]

No, just....

[ But this is a place for training, isn't it. Is he overthinking this? Monarch sighs. ]

Thanks.

[ She's putting her faith in him and he needs to live up to it! ]

You don't have to thank me. Let's just do our best, okay?

[ And with that, she summons her sword and takes a polite step back to give him a bit of space while they prepare themselves. ]

Do you want to make the first move? Or should I?

[ Monarch debates how to spar with Rei. He raises his whip, tempted to tell her to go first - but she's being good enough to help him practice. If he holds back, it disrespects that effort! ]

Then....I will.

[ And he moves! He's not aiming to hurt her so much as just...knock the sword out of her hand with his whip, if he can. ]

[ It seems she's kind of anticipating that, even if she's surprised that he comes rushing right her. She manages to grip onto her blade with both hands and instead aims to tangle it up in the whip so she can yank it out of her hands. Baby fights!!! ]
