cancry | Training Log 3: Revelations

As we have more newcomers again, I will be holding another training session. It will be the same place as before- the part in Limbo. There will be refreshments as well, so even if you do not wish to spar please feel free to come and observe!

[It's that time again! Lion has his little (now a bit beat up since he keeps using the same space) claimed track of land in Limbo set up- wide spaces for people to pair off, a fold-out table with snacks and chairs for sitting and chatting. And of course himself off to the side with his lance in hand- willing to take all challengers and give tips and advice to anyone that comes to him!

He does though, go seeking someone specific out during all this: Chiron]

My friend, may I speak with you in private for a moment?

((ooc: As usual this is a mixer post, so feel free to toss up starters as desired! I will have one for Lion as well if anyone wants to poke him in specific- but use this as a chance to show off- I mean try out new powers you've gained since last time!))

Is that perhaps why it manifested as your weapon of choice?

Yes, I would imagine so. Though it took me quite by surprise when I first saw it.

[ He stops playing and sets the harp aside. ]

Speaking of, has your weapon manifested yet Sir Second?

[Ah, that. Well see, there's a problem....there...

Second pauses, and after a moment of concentration- its easier than he would have thought, and because of that he's been summoning it on accident all over the place- said weapon materializes in his hands. Or arms, rather.

...because it's a guitar. Deep mahogany and perfectly stringed, but honestly nothing much more than that. It isn't ornate or fancy, at any rate.]

I would understand you receiving a harp, but...I do not know how to play any instruments, nor do I know how this could function as a weapon.

[Beyond like. Bludgeoning someone to death.]

[ Oh Beast actually looks... impressed? Possibly excited even? Finally someone ELSE with an instrument weapon!! ]

Oh my! Is that what they call a “guitar”? I don’t think I’ve had the chance to actually see one before!

Well, if it makes you feel any better I had no memory of being able to play the harp either at first. It’s very likely you actually DO know how to play this, you just don’t recall it yet.

[Second nods, bringing a hand down across the strings to give them a strum. It's a nice sound, even if there are no specific chords to be had.]

Is that so...it just seems quite outside of the realm of things I would imagine myself doing, I suppose. Though...the guitar is an elegant instrument...hm...

[Elegant and perfect for someone as Dashing as he is, surely.

Do you think by playing this, I would be able to perform similar acts like what you did back at the casino?

Hmm... you might be able to. You could have a completely different skillset as well though. It's difficult to say.

[Karamatsu looks at Beast like he's grown a second head.]

How would I do that?

[ Beast grabs his harp and rises to his feet. ]

I found out about my harp's capabilities by accident. It's possible we could discover yours by attempting the same things.

Shall we give it a shot? It would be best to try it away from the others so as to not interfere with their own training.

[Second looks down at the guitar still in his hands, plain and unassuming. He can't possibly imagine how much of a weapon this could really be, but...]

I suppose there would be no harm in trying...

All right then.

[ He starts walking and leads Second away from the others but still within Lion's set up training area. Time to find some targets. ]/

The first thing I found out my harp could do was this.

[ He does a quick strum and immediately one of the targets is suddenly slashed at, the attack coming out of thin air. ]

[Oh shit. Second draws back slightly with surprise, the grip on his neck of the guitar tightening slightly.]

Haaaah...? That's amazing...

[Then he's looking down at his guitar, because it didn't do that when he strummed it earlier...]

Am I perhaps not doing it right?
