They had been investigating for weeks, planning and setting up for what seemed like forever. But now was the time for everything to go into action. One team dressed up and settled into various undercover positions in the casino- including Lion himself over at the slots, in case he needed to call Greta and let her know someone was calling her out. Though hopefully, word of mouth would find her first.

Another at the bank, Mona using her Executor weapon to prove they could break-in at any time. It was all or nothing now- either way Greta was about to learn there were way more Executors than she previously assumed.

That is, if the Executors were right in their assumptions. But after last time who knows what might happen...

It does seem pretty empty in here, so Monarch and co. are left to their own devices as they make their way to his cubicle. ... but of course, this is an Executor plan, so things have to go a little wrong.

"Excuse me...?"

A voice speaks up just as they pass one of the cubicles and after a moment, a Specter emerges. Dog Dad and Daughter won't recognize this particular worker, but it's the Specter who interviewed Monarch on his first day here. Because of course it is.

They're eyeing the group a little suspiciously. "You do realize this is after hours...?"

[ Uh oh.

Achilles goes completely still, his mind already racing with things to say - but he waits to see how Monarch handles this first, seeing as he's the one who's been working here. ]

I apologize.

[ Monarch leading with the most Monarch thing imaginable! But at least his voice is firm. ]

A record inconsistency concerns me. I need to address it.

[ But that doesn't explain the others. Think, Monarch. Think. They're counting on you.

No, he's got nothing, except a clock counting down in his head. ]

[ Oh goddess, Monarch... well at least Achilles can build off that. ]

Ah-- please forgive us for accompanying him. As his father I did not feel comfortable letting him come back this late on his own and his sister [ points to Rei ] hates being left alone so I felt it best for us to come along as well.

Rei nods along earnestly, trying to inject as much sincerity into this nonsense as possible. It doesn't... quite work, going by the suspicious gaze the Specter continues to sweep over the trio.

"What sort of inconsistency? It's good that you're diligent but I'm sure you understand that I can't simply allow you to make alterations to the books willy nilly."

It won't take long!

[ Monarch's mind is blank. He's a terrible liar. The impulse to cut and run is powerful, but wouldn't that mean deliberately putting Rei-san and Achilles-san in harm's way while he worked on the books? Can he do that? ]

Please, just....I want to do a good job......

[ Achilles eyes the specter and then Monarch for a few seconds... before sighing. He was hoping it wouldn’t come to this so soon, but he did have his harp out for a reason after all.

Without saying anything else he starts playing his sleep song, intending to put the specter to sleep. ]

They're already opening their mouth to respond to Monarch (with something unpleasant, going by the look on their face) when Achilles strums his harm. The effect is almost immediate. Their eyelids sag and a vacant look takes over their face. Only a few more strums and they're slumping back into one of the office chairs, fast asleep.

Better move while you have the time.

Monarch can take a hint (for anything about lying, apparently). He turns and dashes for his workstation, trusting Rei and Achilles will follow him.

He hopes they aren't too late to help the others at the casino and the bank.

[ Right it's NYOOMING TIME, Achilles is following right behind! ]

AND OFF THE TEAM GOES. Thankfully, they aren't stopped by anyone else on their way to Monarch's usual work cubicle and it looks like all the files and folders that he spends his workdays with have been left out as well.

Rei takes up her place at the entrance to the cubicle and hurriedly gestures for Monarch to get inside.

"I'll keep watch and let you know if anyone else is coming. If they are... um, Achilles, would you be able to play that song again?"

[ Achilles goes inside the cubicle as well, finding a corner to crouch in (because of his... height... he is definitely taller than the cubicle walls) and nods. ]

Of course, darling. That would be no issue.

[ Monarch double-checks his files to be sure he has the numbers right, then gets right to work. Moment of truth. ]

Yes, it will! It's going to take a while because that's a lot of fucking money, but he won't have any issue with moving the money over.

[ Mostly he's just glancing around nervously - from the transfer to out and about, waiting for someone to notice. ]

Achilles-san.

[ Checking up on the transfer again...He's putting it in an account for Ruin, both so Ruin will have it to draw from at the casino and so all their wealth will be amassed in one point. What they do with the money, they can figure out once they have Authority. ]

Could you tell Ruin-san.....he might feel different soon?

Sir Ruin? [ It takes him a split second to realize why Monarch specified him ] Ah! Yes, right away.

[ He takes out his phone and starts typing in the group chat... may as well update everyone else as well. ]

Everything is fine on our end. Monarch is transferring money from Greta's account right now as we speak.

[ And then he @'s Ruin's username to give him the direct ping, hoping it can just be brushed off as like a text message or something while he's at the table. ]

Monarch is depositing the money into your account it seems, and wanted me to give you a heads up in case anything starts to feel strange.
