Superbia Intro Log

SUPERBIA

With the dragon of greed thoroughly slain, the Executors are at last free to escape the sensory hell of the Avaritia Underside and descend to the next Layer. There's still sound and chatter, of course, but compared to where you've been spending all your time until now.

Welcome to Superbia. And make yourself comfortable... because now that you've arrived, the stairs that guided you down here have disappeared and you won't be leaving any time soon.

Feel free to use this arrival log to chronicle your initial misadventures in the Pride Layer of Purgatory. As noted in the location page, several locations will require further investigation if you'd like to get some information on them, so get investigating! Drop a comment down to the Investigation Request subheader if you'd like to explore.

Get out there and have fun!
emberserker: Posing, about to use her scythe or axe. (i'm the coolest)

I suppose. Though most enemies aren't worth that, are they? Or they'll backstab you if you try.

[Hm. Wolfsbane would think that, wouldn't she? He visibly purses his lips, maskless today.] I suppose it depends on what you mean by most enemies. Or even by worth. Isn't it worthwhile to try and understand someone who has an opposing viewpoint, to find common ground? Do you think it so common to not trust, that backstabbing is the default reaction?
emberserker: Stern look. (this is why you're wrong)

[sigh] Perhaps in theory, at least. It just hasn't worked out in practice. Is that the endgame of the history curriculum?
schardynfreude: (so wash it all away)

[He waggles a hand.] It doesn't work all the time, no. But it's usually worth it to at least start by opening a dialogue and seeing how things go. Even if things do tend to end in violence and bloodshed. If nothing else, it helps you to understand your enemy and how they think, does it not? Even if you decide your differences are...unfortunately irreconcilable.
emberserker: Moody and sad. (sighhhhhhhh)

...Fine, all right. I suppose it's what a decent person would do. Is this going to be on the test?
schardynfreude: (with all things you love)

Pfft, test. That's darling. [Several of the students high five or fist pump.] I'm just trying to educate. And perhaps turn you lot out to be, hm, decent people. Though that sounds like it's edging into psychology, and I for one am most certainly not equipped to teach that class.
emberserker: Standing in the rain, judgmental. (judging you)

It might be a daunting order, exams or none. Though I suppose everyone seems to be invested.

I have every faith in every one of you to become the best possible people you can be once you leave these halls. [But particularly you, Wolfsbane!] It just takes but a little effort.
emberserker: Stuck-up pout. (hmph)

Perhaps. As long as everyone can keep it together.
