 With the dragon of greed thoroughly slain, the Executors are at last free to escape the sensory hell of the Avaritia Underside and descend to the next Layer. There's still sound and chatter, of course, but compared to where you've been spending all your time until now. Welcome to Superbia. And make yourself comfortable... because now that you've arrived, the stairs that guided you down here have disappeared and you won't be leaving any time soon. Should he say something? Probably not. Whatever she's doing, it looks like something she needs to think over in private. But as an Executor, isn't he also supposed to investigate things? Can he really do that at the expense of someone else's comfort...?
Except he has already paused, and now he's frowning with a spaced-out look on his face, so that train has maybe already left the station. Without Monarch on it. Deep breath. ]

I’m sorry, I hope I’m not bothering you. I just got a little overwhelmed in lab. Frog dissection day is not my favorite.
[Etoile isn’t lying, but it’s clear that isn’t all that’s bothering her.]

[ Can he still check up on her if she's already said what's distressed her? But...something about the way she's holding herself...
It's familiar. Monarch gets that look himself, sometimes. When he's got something on his mind but hesitates to discuss it. In those moments, he may wish no one paid attention to him -
But really he wants someone there, doesn't he? How dishonest of him. He shouldn't do that. Though if that's where this person is, as someone who's felt the same thing, then... ]

[She looks up from where she’s been looking at her hands, finally looking at him.]
I think I would. Something’s been off about me all day, and it’s not just that I’m not great with science lab.
This is probably a little too much information, but I can’t put my finger on what it is. It’s as if something is right on the edge of happening, and I don’t know what it could be.

[ That's peculiar. Is it related to the time loop? Or...
He can't jump to conclusions. Monarch joins this older girl against the wall. He will be late getting back to his own class, but he isn't here to attend school. (Besides, he's heard this lesson already.) ]
I thought I was the only one who got that way.
[ He's had uneasy feelings about things. Sometimes they've proven right. One time it turned out to be an Executor power! And then, of course, there's...
But again. He doesn't know, and if that's what's going on, if that's what she's on the verge of, Monarch doesn't want to push her. It has to happen at its own pace. ]

…I got ahead of myself. I’m Etoile.

[She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.]
…I don’t think I’m going to go back to whatever I was like just this morning. I feel like maybe that’s what I was waiting on. I don’t think I’m quite all the way through it, but I think acknowledging it has to be the first step.

[ He doesn't seem to mind being in a deep conversation with a stranger. In fact, this comes more easily to him. He hopes what Rei-san taught him will be of use to her, too. Especially since he has a strong suspicion he knows what she's going through. ]

[She’s quiet for a minute, lost in thought.]
…I think that means following mine. What that means, I don’t entirely know yet, my memories are all fuzzy, but I feel better having said it out loud. I - I feel like the only thing I know for sure is that this isn’t where I’m meant to be.

[ Wait. Here....is a thought. He needs someone to go with him to the school festival meeting. And Etoile is on the verge of awakening. Would it help her? Or just be a bother? ]
