[ The 7th day comes to pass and despite knowing that things are different now, Achilles still braces for the worst - only when time doesn't reset does he finally feel like he can breathe again. Like the final confirmation that the loops are indeed over.

Though it's what he sees in the coming days as they prepare for the Underside that really excites him, to the point that he messages the group chat about it. ]

Well, well. So is this the highly anticipated "school festival" I've heard all the students speak so highly of?

[ Indeed as Achilles says, the school festival has finally come. It is the most extravagant, anime-ass Japanese school festival you can imagine, with various student run stands outside full of food and even more things going on inside... and the entirety of the student council running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to keep everything running smoothly.

This, even more so than the passing of Authority and the lack of time resets, puts him at ease. ]

I know we still have much preparation to do but I think after all of this a little bit of fun and relaxation might be good for us.

Of course if all the hustle and bustle gets to be too much for anyone you're more than welcome to make use of my office or faculty dorm, should you have difficulty finding an empty room.

[ Not that he'll be in either much, he's also in a mood to check out the food festival. But hey you don't need him to be present to chill in there.

You've done good work Executors. Enjoy this respite before the battle ahead. ]

[What is the other half of the Superbia Authority doing, at the moment? Well, she's enjoying the festival. It's familiar, in a way that she can't quite put her finger on. Every now and then she'll play a game, or try a snack, or something else, but as it stands, she's enjoying the hustle and bustle.

Eventually, though, she's going to find her way to whatever stage is there. She's not sure how she knows the song, but she's going to sing:]

Well done. Better than most of these Spectres milling about, at the least. Don't tell me the clubs made you do this.

They absolutely didn’t make me do it. It’s just something I missed doing. The memories are still a little fuzzy, but I remember being on stage being something I love.

So you found what it is you were born to do, did you.

Part of it. I don't think it's the whole story, though.

Is it ever, with these memories? It's good that it's something you're good at. People are born for certain things, after all. That's simply how it is.

Very good point.

[she chuckles.]

I'd like to think being on stage is some part of what I was born to do, at any rate.

Let's hope you're as good an Executor as you are a performer. You must be training, at least.

I am, don't worry. I've been hitting up the kendo club for sword practice, and I go for a run every morning. I need to be able to keep up my strength, at any rate.

Good. Have you tested out your abilities as well, then?

[etincelledefierte]

I've honestly been a little worried about that. Not the actual abilities themselves, more drawing attention to them. I didn't want another incident like Amber had with freezing soda cans, you know?

He certainly is something, not always a good something. But really, Spectres don't usually care for long, and now the Authority's not a problem, either. Though you'll need to get into the habit of practising in secret sooner or later. The next one's sure to be hunting us down the second we show up, provided we pass the next Underside on the way.

[Genius listens with interest, humming along just the slightest bit with the chorus. She claps when the song's over, of course.]

Where'd you get that song from? It seems to fit our current situation pretty well!

It's one I remembered from home. It did feel appropriate, no?

Yeah, it definitely does! And I'm definitely ready to get out of here like you said.

[ Rei's only been on stage once and that wasn't uh, exactly willingly, but even she's able to see just how brilliantly Etoile shines when she's up there – she isn't named after the stars for nothing, it seems. Her applause is just as enthusiastic as everyone else's and afterwards, Rei sidles up to her with a smile. ]

That was amazing, Etoile! [ she seems, appropriately enough, a little starstruck. ] You really seemed like a natural up on the stage.

It felt really good to be up there. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though.

I did. I don't think I've ever seen a performance like that before.

[ Not that she remembers, anyway. (memloss game laughtrack) ]

Do you think... that might have been something you did while you were alive?

I think I must have. It felt right, being on stage again, in a way I think it must have felt before.

Is that so? That's wonderful.

[ And it is – it really is! – but Rei feels a little twinge of jealousy anyway. It must be nice to be so certain of something like that. Lord knows Rei certainly doesn't feel so certain about any of her own memories.

But that's not Etoile's fault. So Rei just gives her a smile. ]

We actually had to perform on stage back when we were facing our first Authority... I'm sure we would've done a much better job if we'd have you to help us back then.
