[ The 7th day comes to pass and despite knowing that things are different now, Achilles still braces for the worst - only when time doesn't reset does he finally feel like he can breathe again. Like the final confirmation that the loops are indeed over.

Though it's what he sees in the coming days as they prepare for the Underside that really excites him, to the point that he messages the group chat about it. ]

Well, well. So is this the highly anticipated "school festival" I've heard all the students speak so highly of?

[ Indeed as Achilles says, the school festival has finally come. It is the most extravagant, anime-ass Japanese school festival you can imagine, with various student run stands outside full of food and even more things going on inside... and the entirety of the student council running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to keep everything running smoothly.

This, even more so than the passing of Authority and the lack of time resets, puts him at ease. ]

I know we still have much preparation to do but I think after all of this a little bit of fun and relaxation might be good for us.

Of course if all the hustle and bustle gets to be too much for anyone you're more than welcome to make use of my office or faculty dorm, should you have difficulty finding an empty room.

[ Not that he'll be in either much, he's also in a mood to check out the food festival. But hey you don't need him to be present to chill in there.

I don't think him the same person as that. Neither of us are; indeed, I doubt any among us are the same as we were in life. But it still...feels complicated.

…No, never mind. But yes complicated is certainly a word for it. I would be more surprised if it wasn’t complicated in some way. Especially given Chiron’s own feelings about his past.

[Phoenix trailed off, looking distinctly uncomfortable.]

...rather the other complication. I worry I may know more about Chiron than Chiron himself.

I remembered...it's hard to explain. Call it 'archaeological research', and years of it. We found...well obviously I don't remember the name now, but I knew it to be Chiron. Or traces of legends leading back to him, at the very least.

It would make sense, with the two of them being from the same world and Chiron likely being an old being as well, that this would happen. If someone else were from Rhearth, surely he himself would face a similar situation like this. Yet being able to put himself in those theoretical shoes makes him… strangely uncomfortable. ]

Do you plan to tell him…?

Of course, but...I don't know how. I'm not even certain of how much he knows, or how to even begin.

It… is a difficult subject to broach that’s for certain. I wish I had an easy answer to suggest.

It would likely be very bad to wait too long to do so though.

I know that much. I...just don't want him to end up thinking I care out of some malformed sense of pity. Or worse, he ends up thinking even less of himself than he already does.

I fear that… knowing him like I do a bit of that may be… unavoidable.

I hate to say it in this case, but I agree with you. Would that I could mitigate it somewhat, but...I'm already doing all I can to convince him otherwise.

In all seriousness though, in my experience some physical affection can be very effective positive affirmation for people who uh… might not think much of themselves.

[ Or specifically who might consider themselves monstrous. ]

I don’t know if it would for our friend but if you both enjoyed it then it might not be the worst idea at least.
