Luxuria Intro Log
With the real super power of teamwork, the Executors have successfully managed to make their way through the Gula Underside and defeat the previous Authority there. With Gerda now freed from her past regrets and given the power of an Executor, Gula and its inhabitants seem to be in safe hands... for now at least. More interesting – or concerning, perhaps – is the tentative ally you've gained in the form of Birdie, the mysterious girl who attacked some of your number in the Superbia Underside. While she seemed to be nothing but an enemy back then, a surprising connection has been formed with who you now understand to be the Authority of Purgatory itself. While she doesn't necessarily believe the Executors will be able to repair Purgatory, she is at least willing to admit that she shares their goals of wanting to see Purgatory restored... either to its former state, or to something new. But what does that mean for the Executors? And what does that mean for Rei supposedly born from the Authority's discarded heart? There are still many questions the Executors need to answer and as a blast of dry, hot air blows up from the next layer, you can only hope that Luxuria holds the key to at least some of them... | |
 ♪♫ Wet & Dry – Sakuzyo After the humidity and noise of the Gula Underside, passing down to the Lust Layer of Purgatory initially seems like a relief. The air here is dry and sharp and though you hear noise drifting up to meet you and see a whole rainbow of lights clustered together in the dark, it doesn't seem as though it'll be quite as overwhelming as some of the bustling Layers you've had the pleasure of exploring before. But as you set foot down into Luxuria and feel the heat of the ground under your feet, you begin to wonder if you might just have hopped out of the frying pan and into the fire... | |

Once inside, there's nothing immediately apparent – at least not until the ferris wheel gets moving and the car gets a ways into the air. A draught finds its way into the car and some inspection will reveal its source to be a maintenance hatch in the top of the car that's been tampered with, so it can be easily pushed open at any time.

The hatch opens up smoothly, eased along the way both by intentional tampering and pretty consistent use. The car hasn't reached the apex of its climb yet but it's still high enough to turn your knees to jelly when you look down.
From this close, it's possible to see that the car is just flat enough on top that someone could probably sit there reasonably comfortably if they saw fit but why in god's name would you want to?
Apparently someone did, though, because there seems to be some graffiti up here.

There's a ton of names – some only appear once, close to the hatch, some show up a handful of times close to the hatch and further out. One name in particular stands out, though. It can be found everywhere the graffiti has reached, much more frequently than anyone else's and it's the only name that has made its way onto the spoke.
It's Lana, written in a business-like scribble in chunky black marker.

(while she's up here, mona will fish a pen out of her pocket and scratch her own name in small, neat handwriting, not right near the hatch but not super far out bc she's not enough of an idiot to actually climb right to the edge.)
after enjoying a peaceful ferris wheel ride back down - if mona asks around luxuria and says she's looking for her friend lana, does she get any answers or just shrugs?

According to the Specter, the two of them used to hang around the carnival, getting into all manner of mischief and all degrees of hair-raising thrill-seeking stunts. But Lana had been getting increasingly dissatisfied with it and now they rarely see her around the carnival, if at all. Almost like she's vanished into thin air.

that'll do as far as mona's investigation goes, but since this specter has experience with thrill-seeking, mona will finish up by asking if these guys know anything about those extreme rides there are rumours about.

After a moment, though, one of them looks thoughtful – and notes that if Mona is looking for Lana, then these more extreme VIP rides might be a good place to try and find her. She was always jumping to try new and more exciting things, so that seems like something she'd be into.
