PROCEEDING...
With the real super power of teamwork, the Executors have successfully managed to make their way through the Gula Underside and defeat the previous Authority there. With Gerda now freed from her past regrets and given the power of an Executor, Gula and its inhabitants seem to be in safe hands... for now at least. More interesting – or concerning, perhaps – is the tentative ally you've gained in the form of Birdie, the mysterious girl who attacked some of your number in the Superbia Underside. While she seemed to be nothing but an enemy back then, a surprising connection has been formed with who you now understand to be the Authority of Purgatory itself. While she doesn't necessarily believe the Executors will be able to repair Purgatory, she is at least willing to admit that she shares their goals of wanting to see Purgatory restored... either to its former state, or to something new. But what does that mean for the Executors? And what does that mean for Rei supposedly born from the Authority's discarded heart? There are still many questions the Executors need to answer and as a blast of dry, hot air blows up from the next layer, you can only hope that Luxuria holds the key to at least some of them...

♪♫ Wet & Dry – Sakuzyo After the humidity and noise of the Gula Underside, passing down to the Lust Layer of Purgatory initially seems like a relief. The air here is dry and sharp and though you hear noise drifting up to meet you and see a whole rainbow of lights clustered together in the dark, it doesn't seem as though it'll be quite as overwhelming as some of the bustling Layers you've had the pleasure of exploring before. But as you set foot down into Luxuria and feel the heat of the ground under your feet, you begin to wonder if you might just have hopped out of the frying pan and into the fire...

Oh--forgive my absence, I was intending on returning shortly. I trust nothing's gone too wrong, else I would hopefully have heard about it.

Nothing that has not been mentioned in the group chat. There is no need to worry.

I can't say if any of these food are... particularly good, considering my circumstances. So I made sure to bring an array.

Well, I suppose that there is only one way to find out. I haven't been there particularly long, so I can not say I was fully aware of what they have.

[His smile can't be seen, but it's clear in his voice]

[He makes sure to set things out in a way that will be easy for Phoenix to find with his hands- it's all finger food so silverware isn't needed, but he did bring a lot of napkins, and lightly taps the table where they are for ease of use]

The one right in front of you is a fried chicken strip wrapped in a pastry of some sort. It's quite sticky, so you may wish to cover your hands with napkins.

[He took off his gloves; following the incident fighting a certain little birdie, the thin burn scars branching up from the ring-shaped Executor mark and largely hidden under his sleeves had grown a little more pronounced.]

[...Not that Phoenix knew that, for obvious reasons. Completely unaware of that much, he took a bite of the offered crepe with a slowly dawning look of...half confusion half bewilderment.]

Well...it isn't bad, if considerably unusual. I daresay I wouldn't have thought to assemble something like this and have it be successful.

I found the texture quite fascinating. Crisp then soft then crisp again. The stickiness though... if it's as sweet as it looks I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it.

[He pauses, pondering his words- though he knows Phoenix would want to know if his appearance changed, so it's best to not worry so much about politeness.]

Phoenix... did something happen to your hand recently?

It is a bit sweeter than I might like myself, but I think it has a reasonable balance to it. Something that might be improved upon, if I have the time to consider it.

[At the question he paused, slightly confused. It wasn't as though he'd intended to hide anything, but the habit of wearing gloves and long sleeves did so regardless.]

Not since Medic reattached it. Why, did it leave a mark?

Ah, no... it is your Executor mark- the ring shape around your finger? The... burns... radiating off of it? They have grown larger and more overt. I was worried it might be hurting you.

Oh...no, it doesn't hurt. More likely, I just damaged it a bit more in that fight. Does it look particularly bad?

Hm... it's noticeable to even someone like me, but it is not inflamed or overly disfiguring. May I touch you?

[if allowed he will take the hand in his own to run his thumb over the scars, getting an idea of their thickness and if they are tender. His own hands are also burn scarred, but the marks are larger and smooth, only puckered at the edges]

Hmm, I'm not Medic, but if you can move your finger freely I would not worry too much about it. I'm glad I saw this before Chiron or Achilles though. They can be quite the fretting nursemaids.

[there's an amused tone to his voice]

Of course. [Crepe briefly forgotten and set aside for a moment, Phoenix offered Lion his hand. The scars didn't seem particularly worse and there was no sign of pain on his face when Lion touched them, it was just as if something had made them slightly more pronounced. Magically burning oneself alive tended to do that, probably.]

You do have an excellent point. I'll have to tread carefully with them.

I see no reason to not tell them about it, even if you don't know why it happened. Just so they don't worry about it. But that is between you and them.
