TRACING A PATH

True to her word, following the fight in the Luxuria Underside, Lana shows the Executors where they can travel further down into Purgatory. From the now familiar set of stairs, though, comes something unexpected – a cold, damp breeze that chills you to the bone and makes you feel oddly sleepy. The sense of unease this generates is amplified by the reaction of the accompanying Executors – Rei seems particularly susceptable to the drowsiness inducing effect and while Birdie doesn't seem to be affected, she's nevertheless oddly quiet and a little brooding, like she has something on her mind. Either way, it seems wise to prepare for whatever may lay ahead before proceeding. Take your time to spar, train or whatever you need to do before proceeding to the next Layer...

"Do I seem like a danger to anything other than that poor, poor mannequin?" He gestures lazily to said makeshift target that's been taking the brunt of the punishment. "I've not lifted a finger against you. Why the fuss?"

"You're a danger if you're erratic," Sword retorts. "If we can't know what you're going to do at any given moment, we need to be prepared for that. I don't think you'll be as dangerous as Wolfsbane, but either way."

An entertained huff. "No, surely not." Though perhaps even the darker shade of personality knows better than to egg on that lopsided rivalry. "Shall I call out my intentions loudly and clearly for all to hear before enacting a plan of attack?"

[swordofajerk]

A Look.

"Chiron."

Are you going to be an ass or are you going to come clean? This is how Sword worries.

He shrugs, sighs dramatically. "Have I not been so constantly changing with each new onslaught of memory? You might be terribly stagnant in spite of what you know, but I'm afraid I cannot simply stay exactly the same. How terribly boring an existence that would be."

And with a roll of his hand, as though this should all be obvious, very dull, moving on. "I'm only a threat to my enemies. Have I ever treated you as such?"

"Fair enough." He's just worried, and very bad at showing it. "That being said, do you want to spar?"

There's a glitter to his gold eyes. "Do I, why yes, I would be delighted. Why, it's a much easier way to work out one's feelings than talking about them."

Sword actually smiles a bit at that as he moves back, sword somehow already in hand.

"My thoughts exactly. En garde."
