With the Executors now victorious over the first layer of Purgatory, the only way for them to go is further down. Thanks to the combined efforts of Kingslayer, Ariel and Mona, a path forward has been opened that leads down to the next layer of Purgatory. Rei looks ill at ease about this. If asked, she'll brush off the concern a bit, explaining that she's never gone this far down into Purgatory before and she doesn't know what lays ahead. It might be even more dangerous than the Underside. She's just glad they're all heading down together. So, once everyone's collected themselves... head down they to to the next layer of Purgatory... Welcome to Invidia. Congratulations on unlocking your first major location change in Can Cry! Feel free to use this arrival log to chronicle your initial misadventures in the city of Invidia. [ He nods along and is about to answer the red thing, when he brings up the name. ]

Ah, my apologies then. [ a pause ] Have you decided on a different one then?

[A wave of the hand.] It's fine. The girls had been trying to come up with something since before we all descended into a fight. Phoenix had an idea, but...Mona actually did research, if you can believe it. [He's still amazed!]

I find I rather trust her judgement, so Chiron it is, at least for now. Apparently some wise medic teacher of some sort from myth.

Perhaps you'd like to take up a different moniker?

[ He nods ] Sir Chiron then. I shall remember it.

[ He tilts his head a little though. ]

Hm? For myself you mean? Is there an issue with “Beast”?

[ bud......... ]

If you don't find issue with it, then no, there is no issue. Some might find the moniker insulting, but it's a matter of context.

Hmm... insulting, you say? I must confess I had never thought of it in that way before. Where I'm from the term Beast is exclusively used for--

[ But then he completely cuts off.

Wait, what was it used for? There's a massive gap in his knowledge, an empty hole where some common information should be, which is alarming to him because so far even with the memories gone he still knew his world. Even with everyone else seemingly being from elsewhere, he knew about Rhearth. He remembered the Goddess. He could tell on sight that he and his child were Feathereds and that Orpheus was a Fair. He knew what all the other races were, the continents, the most basic of knowledge that even a small child would know.

And yet this... this thing that he knows he should know is just completely missing.

It takes him out of everything for a moment and he furrows his brow, feeling lost. Why was he "Beast" then...? ]

[twibeast]

[ He shakes his head. ]

Apologies, it... appears I am actually not so certain what its use is after all. Maybe it is meant to be insulting...

...I suppose it might not hurt to at least consider another name then.

[...Ah. Now that's familiar. Chiron's expression softens, and he lays a hand on Beast's arm.]

So that's what it looks like from the other side. To remember yet not remember.

I take it this sort of sensation has happened to you then as well.

Something around the edges of memory, and something...distressing, but you haven't the details enough to know why. Something you know you should know.

I'm afraid this sensation is likely to get worse before it gets better. The memories...seem to come with time.
