Invidia Arrival Log

INVIDIA

With the Executors now victorious over the first layer of Purgatory, the only way for them to go is further down. Thanks to the combined efforts of Kingslayer, Ariel and Mona, a path forward has been opened that leads down to the next layer of Purgatory.

Rei looks ill at ease about this. If asked, she'll brush off the concern a bit, explaining that she's never gone this far down into Purgatory before and she doesn't know what lays ahead. It might be even more dangerous than the Underside. She's just glad they're all heading down together.

So, once everyone's collected themselves... head down they to to the next layer of Purgatory...

    Welcome to Invidia.

Congratulations on unlocking your first major location change in Can Cry! Feel free to use this arrival log to chronicle your initial misadventures in the city of Invidia. Investigation is strongly encouraged here as from here on out, plot progression will moved along by player involvement. If you want to unlock the next Underside, get investigating! All investigations that require mod oversight should be tagged with INVESTIGATION REQUEST in the subject line.

Get out there and have fun!

cw for ignoring personal injury

[Medic's laughing and panting a little at the same time, clearly out of breath.] Oh wow, this is really good for practice- I could barely heal myself fast enough there! [...wait what.]

I wonder how people who can't just fix their ankles do it? [MEDIC.]

Ha, I don't think they--wait. Pardon? Why did you need to heal yourself...?
mementomoritz: maybe both! (new toys? new friends?)

For the joint injuries! [She tilts her head, indicating her left knee- it's visibly swollen, but is already healing back to normal so quickly you can watch it happen with the naked eye.]

Most people can only move so fast because they have to worry about landing with too much force, right? [She gestures cheerily as she talks, illustrating her points with her hands.] Anyone can throw themselves at something as fast as they possibly can once, but your bones and tendons sure have some things to say about it if you try it a second time!

So if you keep healing yourself, you can keep going "as fast as you possibly can", and not have to slow down to "as fast as you can go without hurting yourself". You're starting fresh every time!

[...Wait, did she forget to mention she's cracked self-healing? Because she's figured out how to do that now. ...that's probably what she should have mentioned first.]

...I...am not sure what that says about professional sprinters. [i was gonna say olympic but that probably doesn't exist with that particular name in eos and may not exist at all WHO KNOWS]

Aren't you exhausted? Doesn't that hurt?
mementomoritz: good day (good friends)

Sports medicine is a pretty lucrative field! I guess that kind of thing must be why. [Also sprinters normally, you know... run very short distances on tracks specifically prepared for that kind of thing instead of just going for it at the drop of a hat.]

Not anymore! It healed right up. I am a little tired, though... [Endurance training might be a good idea, but maybe not right now.]

...Medic, instead of playing the game for fun with your own natural ability, were you tearing muscles and ligaments and instantly healing them as though that were a thing that shouldn't be concerning?
mementomoritz: hmmm... (hypothesis)

[personal profile] mementomoritz 2020-10-13 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yes? [Said in the general tone of "why did you just ask me if the sky is blue?"]

Shall I take that reply as to mean you haven't the faintest why purposefully doing harm to yourself might be in the least bit concerning to others around you?
