i will be holding another training session in the park on the limbo layer tomorrow afternoon for anyone that would like to attend

[there's actually a lot more spaces here than I'm gonna make you see because he still isn't sure how to send messages and keeps hitting enter instead. eventually it goes through though!]

[Limbo- Training]

[He's here just as he said he would be! He even apparently walked off with one of the cafe tables to put snacks on like a good host. Feel free to practice on your own or poke Lion himself to throw down. He's already doing stretches and picking up heavy things like giant rocks and people.]

[After training Lion is here, in a towel, glaring at the water]

Off to the side, sounds like someone's taking shots at Phoenix--with an instant camera, that is.]

[...For a brief moment, he felt a very strong sense of something familiar, a spark of disjointed memories that nearly made him miss a step.]

[Pausing to regain his footing, Phoenix tilted his head in the direction the sound had come from.]

[Well, here's a new voice.]

Uh, no, I was just--you know what you're doing, you know? I was just practicing with this thing and thought I'd try to catch a shot of you doing your thing. Didn't mean to mess with your kata.

No, it's quite alright--I simply wasn't expecting it.

Apologies, I don't think we've met before--you can call me Phoenix.

Yeah. Clocks is what my slumbering ghost brain decided should be my name when I woke up. I'm new to this crowd. Guess I should've introduced myself before taking your picture like some kind of asshole ninja paparazzo.

Don't worry about it, there are those of us with far less social grace.

How long have you been awake?

Uhhh, I get that this question is hilarious given the handle I just handed over, but is time even real. Especially here.

[He shrugs and shakes his head.]

Not that long, I guess? But maybe longer than I think? I got this feeling like I've been half-awake my whole life. Unlife. Some kind of long time if time is a thing whose thingness we're agreeing to entertain.

Much less real than it should be. Perhaps that was a foolish question, I've little grasp of the concept myself.

At the very least, you're not alone in being disoriented over the whole matter.

I dunno. I mean, yeah, nothing makes sense, but it'd be weirder if it did. Like, that's how I feel. Could just be a me thing, my freakish unremembered life experience isn't everyone's freakish unremembered life experience, probably.

[Phoenix laughed under his breath, adjusting his visor.]

Indeed. We've all rather a lot to contend with on the matter of how surreal the circumstances might or perhaps might not be for us.

[Not that Phoenix can see it, but Clocks opens his mouth to say something, hesitates, and then seems to think better of it. Instead, he focuses on flapping the instant photo to make it develop faster.]

Think you were a fighter before this afterschool-afterlife hero contract shit? You look it.

Something like that. I can't remember much just yet, but I was some manner of royal guard when I was still alive.

Damn. Kings and guards and oldschool knights... it'd be enough to make a guy feel out of place, if it weren't for the twelve-year-old girls.

It's a bit concerning that the majority of us are so young, all things considered.

Kids die all the time.

I am aware of that. I only find it a peculiar imbalance within our numbers.

[callbacks]

[He goes thoughtful for a moment.]

Wouldn't say kids are better at remembering their identities or whatever, that sounds fake. But... I dunno. Maybe there's something about dying relatively suddenly that makes waking up more--urgent. I dunno, even as I say it, it all sounds like psychomindy babbledygook to me.

That seems about as logically sound as any other explanation.

Guess we can't know any of that for sure unless someone remembers something about it. Something about the term between biting it and waking up now, I mean.

[He turns his face away slightly, then, no longer aiming his voice directly at Phoenix.]

...Has... anyone? Is that even a thing that happens?

...Not that I'm aware of. I only remember having awoken, not what I may have done beforehand.

[The flappity-flap of his shaking the Polaroid has slowly been tapering off. It redoubles suddenly now as he returns his attention to it, away from whatever it was he was thinking about.]

Maybe I'll put it to a poll. Or ask Rei, since she's Magical Girl Supreme around here.
