introductions
It comes to you suddenly, at the end of an unravelling thread of thought. A sudden, piercing sense of wrongness stops you in your tracks and sends you tumbling through rapidfire questions that you realize you have no answer for. How long have you been here? How long have you been doing the same things, over and over, blindly going through the motions of a routine? Just who are you, anyway?
Questions beget more questions and answers prove illusive until you arrive at the only things you know for certain: the first is that this place is Purgatory.
The second is that you're here because you're dead.
Oddly, this doesn't feel like a surprise of any sort. You don't remember how or why it happened, but it did and that's that. It feels rather as though you've been slapped awake and everything around you has come into sharp focus. You're in Limbo, where you've been wandering since you arrived here in Purgatory alongside all the other mindless souls who are acting out what little they remember of their original lives.
Still lingering is that horrible sense of something being terribly wrong. It hasn't dissipated with your realization of the truth – if anything, it's intensified. There's no way to tell what it is, but there's something going on here.
Maybe you should investigate – or at least see if there's anyone else here who's had the same realization as you...
[ OOC: Welcome to the very first log of Can Cry! For the first few hours, Executors will be free to explore and mingle among themselves. Mod replies will come in a few hours. If you're planning to investigate, please indicate that you're doing so in the subject line as your comment. ]

Brainiac | OTA, Planning to Investigate!
... That didn't quite work.
[A red-and-white haired girl was just kinda stepping along, weirdly casual for someone who's just realized they're dead.]
Of course, that leaves just one very important question: Now what?!
[And off she goes, triapsing around. She has this feeling something else is really wrong about this, beyond that most of the people she saw around here were being all creepy-repeat-their-actions and maybe if she saw someone who wasn't, that'd help! Maybe a lot! Trying to investigate alone was...
... Eh, it'd do! But for now, it was just going off in random directions and trying to talk to people! Also, gawking at the really crazy aesthetic of the place.]

[Suffice it to say, once Pascal spends a fair bit of time distracted by a few other books, she exits, disappointed at the library failing her!!!!
Also she put everything she grabbed back in the 'reshelve' spot, because she could swear she'd heard something about doing that. Nothing gets checked out, as she heads on to look around the next first interesting spot she runs into - the wishing fountain!]
Hmm... I wonder if anyone collects the money?

She hasn't encountered how the conbini doesn't take money yet...But, after some random poking and prodding around gets her nothing, she waltzes off again, thinking to try poking one of the random spectres going around to check if they're solid like the other waking ones like her, before trying...
She stops in front of the bath house, stops... Then waltzes right past towards the Coffee Shop. Maybe there'll be some waking people there, or someone she can ask about something??? That'd be nice!]

[As Brainiac hears Hope, she spins toward him, her scarf dramatically fluttering for maybe a second before it just kinda droops back down to its normal spot.]
I've only just started in trying to learn. Uh, actually, much of anything about anything! I can't remember much, so it's kinda hard to know where to start.

Maybe the books go easier for me because I was like, an avid reader when I was alive somehow? We'd need to see if there's books I can read and others can't for that to make sense, though!

He hasn't met Rei yet.]You liked to read? [Hope pauses to think, and eventually shrugs in defeat.] I guess I didn't. The idea of books isn't bringing me any flashes of nostalgia, like some other things have. Anyway, I don't mind following you to the library if you want to investigate.

I mean, there's still something up here, everyone I've talked to who isn't some kinda.. Something?... has said that much.
