Dancing through life Mindless and careless
[So... he's bored. Bored out of his mind honestly. Knowing there are plans in the works only helps to soothe some of his reckless, restless energy. Rei had gone and found the girls outfits which was good and all but...
From what he's seen they're really not all that coordinated. Like, as a group. He finds himself loitering around while they're practicing more and more. What had started with playful teasing and cat calls shifting more and more into honest criticisms.
Eventually he's going to end up replacing half the music they've been working with to instead maintain a steady beat of claps and heel stomps, things that can be adjusted as they go, as they need. So there's a little less needing to stop and reset the music.]
It might be easier to stay synced if you guys just do the percussion yourselves, y'know?
[That's definitely how most dances work, isn't it?]

Y-yeah that's sorta what I figured. Seems to me if you are all on the same beat, it'd be easier to maintain than trying to find it in... [A vague gesture at whatever stereo type deal they're using.] all of that.
[Ye olde boy does not understand pop music. Too many sounds. Too confusing.]

[Brainiac blinks a couple of times.]
It's one of those things where it needs to seem like it should be hard, then we make it look effortless, for the best results.
no subject
Doesn't matter how hard it is so long as it looks hard and it's too much for the average person right? So-
[He starts a simple rhythm. Clap two clap four, repeat. Leans in and gives her an expectant look, c'mon clap with him~]
Get the audience involved
[Keeping half time is easy though and as soon as it becomes something familiar his grin widens. Half time turns into a staccato little rhythm that ends on a louder note because it's the hard-soled heel of a boot that makes it.]
Changing it when they aren't expecting it makes it seem a helluva lot harder. And they're paying attention to your hands not your feet.

I mean, we gotta do at least... I'd think three pieces?
[Brainiac is following along the pattern.]
It's at least a start...

[Or win the White Heron Cup, as the case may be.]
Either way, though, we've got a lot of work if you're planning to dance for all three and not just sing. Maybe teach you girls how to loosen up a little.
[Of course the demonstration he offers for that is... well... a rather suggestive roll of his hips. Not just his hips though, instead it is something that rolls smoothly through his whole body and leads into a fancy little trio of heel clicks.
Something sort of like belly dance meets flamenco.]

... That was certainly a motion that, uh, just happened? I'm not sure how that works.
no subject
[Making things a bit more fluid is the goal here.]
Just because you're doing a step or whatever doesn't mean the rest of your body isn't involved.
[Just nudging her shoulder lightly. C'mon loosen up girls.]
no subject
No, I mean, I'm not sure my hips move like that?
How did you do that?
no subject
[It's not terribly easy to break it down into individual steps but he does his best to explain and demonstrate the general motion of it for her.]
no subject
.... So, uh, kinda like...
[Brainiac starts trying to rotate her hips. It isn't precisely a smooth motion at all. Clearly, this isn't her usual realm!]

[Ruin takes a step closer, one hand held out like he might touch her before he stops short, thinking better of it. Uuuh maybe before he tries to guide her through anything he needs to uh... yeah...]
You mind?
no subject
[Brainiac doesn't have much of a sense of personal boundaries, but she got the hint that Ruin did, so sure, permission was fine.]
no subject
[She's proven to be absolutely awful at anything involving singing, but her problem is more about not staying on pitch than it is rhythm, so her dancing is fine.]
I've been trying to match it up to my breathing. One breath in- [Stomp.] -two breaths out. [Clap, clap.]
...I still don't know why we need to do that while we're dead. It raises so many interesting questions! [...at least she'll look adorable, if they can keep her from talking too much.]
no subject
[she says like she knows what she's talking about]
...Wait, no way, that sounds too dumb, doesn't it...

[Medic, please stop. You worry him.]
That's a good idea though. Measuring steps with your breathing. As long as everyone stays in sync. Depending on how physical you girls are someone might get winded faster than others, that's the only concerned.
no subject
Maybe the patrols in Limbo will be good for that, too? If we see each other in a fight, we'll know how much physical effort we can handle.
[Interestingly, for someone who mostly seems to have memories of studying and intellectual pursuits, Medic herself appears to be in pretty good physical shape.]
no subject
[A frown, looking around with concern.]
You guys have like a basic routine already right? Aren't you all supposed to be doing this thing soon?
[Girls these things usually take months of incredibly intensive practice and rehearsals. He just wanted to help y'all clean things up and maybe add some flair.]
no subject
[The singing. She means the singing. ...Maybe someone will invent autotune for the afterlife between now and the concert.]
no subject
But what do you mean by "other parts"? [Why would she be in an idol group if she can't sing?]
no subject
That part.
[At this point, if Esme doesn't kill them, idol life might.]
