It's time.

Esme has been doing her level best to make sure everyone in Invidia knows about their little competition, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see that the mall is absolutely overflowing with devoted fans today, all eager to see the outcome of this "friendly" competition between performers. Thankfully, Esme has been unusually sportsmanlike and deigned to release a schedule of the event beforehand, so you're not just going in blind. Esme and Idol-ON will perform two songs each and then hold a question and answer session with the audience, after which a vote will be held – and whoever has the most votes by the end of the show will be declared Invidia's newest top idols.

Sounds simple, right? Right.

You've all been given a private room out of the way of the crowds, with some time to spare before the event itself starts. Time for some last minute rehearsal, some last minute panicking, some last minute... sabotage? Well, Esme's probably not going to play fair, so why should you?

[ So, exactly what is Chiron looking to do to the current broadcast, if he managed to tap into it? Just curious. Don't worry about it. ]

[Well, given the bits of prerecorded fun things left on the computer bank from before, he has options! ~~Let's all pretend any of us have any idea how tv broadcasting works, especially in the handwavy made up purgatory world!~~

All during Esme stuff, of course, he'd aim low first--static, warbling, adjusting the vertical and the horizontal...mostly just seeing if he can, or if his attempts inherently make interference.

If he can just tap in, he'd show bursts of clips of Kotori and Alice, like from the interview--we're already gonna fuck with Esme's wholeass head with reminders of them, so let's try and remind the public of the other ladies too.

HESITANT TO JUST WITHOUT WARNING DROP THE GOOP DEATH IN THE BROADCAST but he is not above doing so if he thinks a nuke needs to get dropped on this whole thing.

Will there by any chance be live polls, or will all the voting happen after it's all said and done?]

[ Messing with the picture itself doesn't seem to be possible – at most, he can make things blink out for a second but the stream reasserts itself very quickly, and the more he tries to knock it off the air the harder it becomes to interfere, so it's definitely worth being careful about just what he attempts.

It's possible to splice things into the stream at least and with careful enough work, some hijacking might be possible if he wants to just drop GOOP TIME in there.

The votes are the most interesting, though. They're live polls and there seems to be a glitch in the way they're being displayed. With some poking around, it's possible to modify the number being displayed for the total number of votes for both sides of the competition, but the number corrects itself as soon as another vote comes in. Timed right, this could be pretty useful. ]

[Okay, so yeah, once it starts getting harder and he's not really getting the fuckery results he wants, it'd be pretty clear his efforts are getting sussed out, but interference is Baby Time anyway. He's not gonna fuck around and find out all the time; he'll try and time things, space them out. Seem like technical difficulties. He doesn't intend to knock anything off air or splice things in for too long. Literally just like. A few seconds of Kotori being rad, or Alice doing a smile. He'll try to show as little of Esme as possible.

But yesssss fucking with live data and displays...this the Good Shit. Natch he'll try and fuck with it to make it seem like Idol-ON is in the lead, especially if the Actual Numbers are close. If it's the sort of thing where he might be able to fudge it their way under the wire to make it seem like a technical victory...

Might it even be possible to try and insert his own graphic so that things don't reset when new votes come in? That's probably too much work and even if he could, it wouldn't be able to be up long. Just throwing some spaghetti at the wall.

If the numbers start going wildly Esme's way before the end, tho? That sounds like nuclear option goop time next time green girl shows she face. He'd likely give a quick heads up on discord, but like. Honestly he's having a pretty good time. This is fun.]

[ With how tye votes are being counted and displayed, it's not possible to insert a graphic anywhere – at least not anywhere where it wouldn't be extremely obvious, anyway. But the voting lines will be closing at some point, so it could be possible to cheat a win if the interference was timed right.

Not that Idol-ON would do such a terrible thing of course. Winky face.
