There were cars, yes. All manner of them, I believe. Fairly normal mode of transportation.

Horse and buggy and wagon also existed, though perhaps that was merely out in the most rural areas.

Horse-drawn carriages were far more common in Steel London.
I don't think a lot of people were comfortable with cars... They were still fairly recent inventions.

I think Father's achievements happened not too long before I was born, or perhaps when I was still very young.
And I was, um... Maybe 20? Do I seem 20 years old?

While I agree that it seems strange that we might appear differently from when we perished, in this land(?) where thought and perception seems to transform things, I feel we cannot dispute it as a possibility
