I find it helps to clear my head.

i wonder if driving would be a skill someone retains like running or writing, or one we'd have to regain or relearn before using.....

i can't work as a test case, though :(

Oh, I can tell you that. ^_^
It was a skill I regained. Back in Invidia, I remembered my friend who had taught me to drive, and when I did, I suddenly knew how to do it again.
I definitely didn't know before then.
