Experiment Log 02: Film Theory [Open]

[Anyone passing by the theater in Limbo today, whether out of chance or curiosity, will find that it's running another one of its' "special presentations". In between the usual mix of random gibberish and actual films are two short clips, both featuring the same young girl.]

[Neither of them is a particularly long memory, but it's enough to see that the child in question is unmistakably a much younger Medic.]

[The first is a cheerful little memory, in it's own... unique way. At least the cat seems fine.]

[It's the second one where things get a little uncomfortable.]

[The source of the memories in question, once someone has eventually clued her in that she's getting another fifteen minutes of fame, can be found sitting in one of the theater seats and absently eating popcorn while staring at the screen, lost in thought.]

I didn't remember until I saw... Was the video the cause, or did it appear here because I was going to remember soon? [Thankfully, she doesn't seem too bothered by her personal business being shown publicly, but she does seem pretty wrapped up in contemplating it.]

[Alternately, if you show up later, you may hear a lot of thuds and clatters coming from the back.]

[Apparently, she's trying to get answers from the source by locating and breaking into the projector room. Her success is... mixed at best.]

[On the bright side, she left her giant bag of popcorn unattended. Free movie snacks?]

We were discussing... [Okay, wait, she's not a mental health expert but that definitely seemed like she triggered something a little there, maybe don't say the exact same thing a second time.] ...a topic. [Nailed it.]

A topic specifically related to family members? And then you went temporarily unresponsive. No slurred speech or dizziness, though, so that eliminates some of the more alarming possibilities!

[Medic: for when you don't want to check Web MD, but you'd still like someone to audibly wonder if you might have a fatal brain condition every time you get a headache.]

...Oh! Oh right yes. I remember now. Unfortunately that's all I have to share on the topic - I don't remember much else about them yet.

[ YEAH JUST. GONNA GLAZE OVER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT AND ACTING LIKE HE TALKED ABOUT THE OTHER SISTER ALREADY. SURE. ]

Right! [She still really wants to know but, for once, even she can tell this is a Bad Topic. So she's just not going to ask.]

Pets? Well, I can't say since I don't remember my time actually living with my siblings...

...Oh, wait. There was at one time a small herd of dogsheep that the village I lived in took care of. I suppose that counts?

Dog... sheep...? [Her eyes slowly widen as this concept sinks in.] They sound adorable, what are they like? Are they fluffy? Can you pet them? Do they like headpats?

[This is VITALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION, okay. She has to know, for science.]

Extremely fluffy. And soft. Their wool makes some of the best clothing.

And they absolutely loved being petted and getting headpats. You could probably pay for their services in belly rubs if you found the right one.

[ He tilts his head up reminiscing. ]

They used to get so excited when they saw me and chased me around all over the place trying to pile on me.

I have never met them, and I love them. ...I could probably make some, if you found me a dog and a sheep. [...Maybe the lack of animals in Purgatory isn't necessarily a bad thing.]
