Superbia Intro Log ... ?
![]() With the dragon of greed thoroughly slain, the Executors are at last free to escape the sensory hell of the Avaritia Underside and descend to the next Layer. There's still sound and chatter, of course, but compared to where you've been spending all your time until now. Welcome to Superbia. And make yourself comfortable... because now that you've arrived, the stairs that guided you down here have disappeared and you won't be leaving any time soon. Feel free to use this arrival log to chronicle your initial misadventures in the Pride Layer of Purgatory. As noted in the location page, several locations will require further investigation if you'd like to get some information on them, so get investigating! Drop a comment down to the Investigation Request subheader if you'd like to explore. Get out there and have fun! ... is anybody else feeling some deja vu? | |

[What the fuck actually, though. It was the middle of the night, last he recalled, and now suddenly he's...at the bottom of the stairs- or where the stairs were, at any rate. Chiron whips around, slapping some sunglasses back on over his eyes, though if he seems to be paler in the face with his veins and capillaries and the like looking darker than a normal used to be alive human person would look...don't worry about it?]
No. What? Was anyone else just elsewhere, or have I finally lost the rest of my mind?
[And with some investigating, namely chatting up the students and facualty, it seems...everything is back to the way that it was...? Time to get on the chat!]
You may have noticed everything about the people here seems to have reset.🕰️ It would be prudent for us to get together and figure out what we know and what we do not yet know. Please meet in the ♛chess♛ club room at lunch.
(Feel free to bring said lunch!🥪🥪🥪 Or snacks to share✨!)
[Chiron will be in the room already, arranging the desks into a circle that just caused me psychic damage from school flashbacks. Some of the unused, uncircled desks have chessboards set up. Because he's not going to completely ruin the club's atmosphere.
no he did not bring snacks to share]

So every single Spectre has been stuck like this, probably ever since the layer was sealed off. Do you suppose it's the Authority's power? What sin is this, sloth?

[ Which like. He suspected as much but with this happening now he feels pretty certain. ]

Outside of the main conversation(tm)
Then he notices he's been spotted just as he's edging over to one of those desks.]
Oh, heeyy! So uh- I'm kindof like. Part of you guys' group now, name's Amber, nice to meet you, I'm just gonna uh-
[Slooooowly sit down.]

Mmhm. I discovered the lad had awakened a while ago, though didn't have a chance to introduce him to everyone yet.
He's a good kid. [ Not a "seems like", he just already knows he is. ] Very eager to help.

I've ventured into the forest twice now. From what I could see, the layout is largely the same as before, but the discarded trash is different.
[why is there even any to begin with it is a FOREST not a GARBAGE DUMP]

I can't confirm directly whether this is genuine time travel or just the layer altering itself to put things and people in the same state they were before, I'm working on figuring it out. It's going to be a big project!
But at least now we know where to look for the Authority, so that's a relief!
[...Wait, what was that last part? Someone might need to get her to explain her reasoning here.]

[She's beginning to doubt this conclusion, now. Maybe she should back up and try to explain instead of just assuming everyone's following the exact same train of thought she is.]
It's a high school that no one can graduate, because time never progresses. I don't think something here could be like that without the Authority actually wanting it to be that way- that, or the afterlife is a lot more broken than we thought. Basic physics may be having some problems.
So... that means the Authority almost has to be a student, right? [She shrugs slightly, looking uncharacteristically shy about her answer. She's confident in her scientific analysis, but this is a guess based on, well. People. She's not always so great with those.] If they were a staff member, they wouldn't need a time loop to happen, because teachers can keep working at a school until they get fired or quit. But students graduate.
Except they don't, here. So someone who wanted to be in school could just keep being in it, forever.

[apart from Lion but he expects Lion to knock a good bit louder.]
[So who the hell is that?]

Probably a safe bet they're here tbh.Sword, Ruin, Lion?At least one of them is definitely not here. He's the one that set it up, he'll check it out. He moves over to the door and cracks it open so that he's the only tall thing with obnoxious clothing that can be seen through it.]
Ah, my apologies, I'm afraid the room is occupied with a faculty meeting at the moment.
