[ With the handful of new Executors awakening after the first batch, Rei's starting to get a little bit dithery. They're getting to be a big group now and while she's more than grateful for the help (and the company), she still finds herself worried about the group's cohesion. After all, Lion had admitted that he'd lashed out when he'd first awakened, Kingslayer and Pariah were at each other's throats and Iris wasn't even sure she wanted to be here at all.

Not that Rei could blame her.

But if they're going to be a team, then they at least need to be civil with each other. And getting in a bit of bonding before they have to go down and potentially double-die couldn't hurt.

So Rei borrows one of the hotel suites – a 'luxury' suite, according to the receptionist but to Rei's eyes, it just looks tacky as all get out. But it's big enough for the whole group and after spending an afternoon dragging in all the blankets she can find (and a few mattresses – thank god there aren't any other actual guests here to complain about her pillaging their rooms), Rei makes one final trip to the conbini to get... pretty much everything she can carry. Alcohol is right out (sorry, wine grandpa) but she brings back bulging bags of sodas, sweet drinks of all kinds and pretty much anything that looks made to be chugged. After that comes everything vaguely snack and candy-like in the store and a few things that might not actually be good to eat, and Rei feels confident in saying she's done.

She'd mentioned to a few of the others that she was having a bit of a get together that night, so all she can really do is wait for them to show up. She's in her pajamas, she's looked up sleepover games in the library and snacks, there's a TV mounted on the wall and she has... never held a sleepover before.

This is gonna turn out just fine. ]

Hello, Miss Rei! [Medic is, as always, just happy to be here.]

[She also appears to be carrying... is that a stack of DVDs? Huh.]

I asked the librarians how people watched movies here and they showed me these, so I brought a bunch. I picked ones that looked fun! [...You might want to double-check those. Medic's definition of fun isn't exactly identical to everyone else's.]

[...I'm not saying there's a copy of Brutal Instinct in there, except that yes. I am. There is absolutely a copy of Brutal Instinct in there.]

I... I completely forgot to bring movies.

[ thank god for medic, a sentence no one has ever said before and may not say ever again. ]

There's so many of them! Which ones did you bring?

[She's helping- without said help involving surgical implements, for once.]

Most of the fiction section! [That explains why there's such a large stack, at least...] I didn't know what other people liked, so I just grabbed as much as I could carry.

This one says it's a mystery film! [Oh God, there it is. Brutal Instinct, the first and only edition, in all its' digitally remastered post-filming glory.]

[The cover is a man holding a knife in front of his face so that it covers the left half, with a woman's face reflected on the blade. The knife is bloody. The font listing the title looks like it should be on a heavy metal album cover.]

Also there's one about rabbits, they look pretty cute. [...Oh God she's got Watership Down in there, too.]

[ Rei doesn't remember enough of anything to remember if she has good taste or not, but even in the afterlife, Brutal Instinct radiates such intense tacky energy that she finds herself squinting at it rather dubiously anyway. Cursed Artifact. ]

Something cheerful is probably the best idea. Maybe we can pick out a few things that look fun and then put it down to a vote?

[You can feel the bad life choices just radiating off it. But hey, you're already dead.]

That sounds good. So these two and... why don't you pick one? [She smiles warmly.] After all, you should get to enjoy the film, too.

[ She seems unbelievably startled by this. ]

Um. I'm not sure if that's a very good idea.

Huh? [Medic looks just as confused as Rei is, if not more.] Why not? You're going to be watching the movie too, right?

Yes, but... I don't actually remember ever watching a movie before. I have no idea what a good movie to watch would even be.

[ Having no defined taste whatsoever makes her infinitely more of a wildcard than someone with simple bad taste. ]

That's okay, I think most of us don't know much either! [This is going to be a hilarious disaster, probably.] I can remember movies in general, but not what kind I liked. So you aren't a worse choice than anyone else.

Maybe we can just sort of – shuffle through them, then? We'll pick one at random to start off with and then do the same for each new movie we watch until we're all ready for bed.

That sounds fun! [Heck it, she's good to gamble.] We can put them all in one of those pillowcases so no one can see what they're picking out, and have someone draw a new one every time, like a raffle.

[ Then, after a moment's pause; ]

Actually... should we check to see if we're all okay to watch these? If there's a horror movie or something in there people aren't prepared for, it could sort of ruin the atmosphere...

Maybe, but... how do we know what's in the films without watching them? [She looks quizzically at one of the DVD cases.] These summaries aren't very descriptive...

Maybe we can give everyone a veto option? If something really bothers someone, they can ask to skip it and we go right to the next movie.

Alright then. We've got enough movies that even if we have to pass on a few of them, we shouldn't run out anytime soon.
