[ With the handful of new Executors awakening after the first batch, Rei's starting to get a little bit dithery. They're getting to be a big group now and while she's more than grateful for the help (and the company), she still finds herself worried about the group's cohesion. After all, Lion had admitted that he'd lashed out when he'd first awakened, Kingslayer and Pariah were at each other's throats and Iris wasn't even sure she wanted to be here at all.

Not that Rei could blame her.

But if they're going to be a team, then they at least need to be civil with each other. And getting in a bit of bonding before they have to go down and potentially double-die couldn't hurt.

So Rei borrows one of the hotel suites – a 'luxury' suite, according to the receptionist but to Rei's eyes, it just looks tacky as all get out. But it's big enough for the whole group and after spending an afternoon dragging in all the blankets she can find (and a few mattresses – thank god there aren't any other actual guests here to complain about her pillaging their rooms), Rei makes one final trip to the conbini to get... pretty much everything she can carry. Alcohol is right out (sorry, wine grandpa) but she brings back bulging bags of sodas, sweet drinks of all kinds and pretty much anything that looks made to be chugged. After that comes everything vaguely snack and candy-like in the store and a few things that might not actually be good to eat, and Rei feels confident in saying she's done.

She'd mentioned to a few of the others that she was having a bit of a get together that night, so all she can really do is wait for them to show up. She's in her pajamas, she's looked up sleepover games in the library and snacks, there's a TV mounted on the wall and she has... never held a sleepover before.

This is gonna turn out just fine. ]

[It's a little bit after people start showing up that Lion arrives. Or reaches the door and awkwardly 'knocks' with his foot until someone opens it for him.

Once someone does it's clear he has two folded mattresses, one on each shoulder.]

I have the last two mattresses, Lady Rei!

[He hauls them to a corner so people can make more sleeping space. Once he's done he mingles around, and even sits to be a warm body for any games or makeovers anyone wants to do.

Oddly though, when it's time to sleep he... manifests the cape from his Executor uniform and just... curls up in it against a wall.]

[How close is Lion watching his cape? Because if the answer is "not very", he may eventually discover that he's picked up a stowaway.]

[Medic's been running at her usual level of enthusiasm all evening, but even she has to crash sometime. Apparently, the draw of a fluffy cape was too much to resist, and she's somehow managed to stumble over and burrito herself up in a trailing end of it in her sleep.]

[Attempting to wake her just gets a sleepy mumble of "cozy..."]

[He eventually wakes a little and sees her.

But instead of pulling his cloak away he just tucks her in better and pats her head groggily before going back to sleep]

Oh, let me help!

[ And here she comes hurrying over to do just that. Executor strength or no, she's still small enough that these big-ass mattresses are a bit of an awkward bundle, but she can take one of them off his hands at least. ]

I'm sorry to make you help out when I was the one who invited you...

I don't mind at all. If anything I'd feel awkward showing up without any thing to offer.

I'm the host, though! You shouldn't have to worry about bringing anything at all.

[ Ah, yes – the ancient and revered art of Politeness Judo. ]

I do appreciate it, though. Maybe we can just sort of arrange them around the bed, so everyone's in kind of the same place when we settle down to sleep? Oh, and maybe one in the corner, too? So we can give each other some space if we have to.

But it's only proper for the Guests to offer thanks to their Host as well, yes?

And that sounds like a good idea. I'll take one to the corner if you want to arrange the others how you wish?

Alright then. ... Thanks again.

[ Mollified a little by having herself a little job to do, Rei sets to draping blankets and pillows over the mattresses. It's a little messy, but that's all part of the sleepover aesthetic, promise. ]

Is there anywhere you'd prefer to sleep, by the way?

Oh, I can settle-in anywhere. Please, do not put anyone out for my sake.

There's plenty of space for everyone else. They won't be put out.

[ nice try lion. she'll win this round of politeness judo yet. ]

[He doesn't know WHY sleeping close to others is bothering him so much. So he frowns, pondering]

You could definitely try. But I wouldn't recommend it.

[ Which is kind of hilarious to hear from Miss Not-Even-Five-Feet right here ]

[ a little while after Lion has curled up in his cloak, before he's had the time to fall asleep, Mona approaches him with her usual deer-like gait, soft and hesitant. she doesn't want to stand here towering over him when he's on the floor, so she sits down by him with her legs tucked up underneath her. ]

Lion... Are you sure that's comfortable?

It is comfortable enough. With my size, it's easier than taking up anyone else's space.

[ she frowns, and slowly shakes her head. ]

I don't think anyone would see it that way... You're not taking up someone else's space. It's just your space.

[ but, if he's worried about that... hmm. ] Do you want to share with me?

[He makes a surprised noise]

It... would not bother you? Or seem improper?

Improper... [ like social etiquette? she vaguely remembers what that means, but in a way she's grown familiar with: it feels like the memory of something she read in a book somewhere, not something she's ever had experience with herself.

Mona shakes her head. ] No. It wouldn't bother me. Do you not like it...?

[ the only thing that worries her is the same persistent worry always at the back of her mind — that he'd be close to her. but she's trying to dismiss that strange concern now. people have touched her without incident, so whatever it is, it doesn't seem to matter in Limbo. ]
