something something start dash
[ Well, now that Esme's thrown down the gauntlet they have little time to waste getting everything ready and the thing idols need most are songs to perform. Right now having at least one song ready is the priority (though preferably more than that), so when he's not helping out with Plan Cancel Esme he's got his hands full with trying to work out something for the girls, even if it's just a melody.
He's got the sheet music he found of songs that used to be Kotori's and is doing his best to use what he has to try and turn them into songs reminiscent of her but still something new. He's got his harp out of course and is alternating between playing for a while, stopping, making adjustments, starting again with the changes, and so on and so forth. ]
Mmm, the second page is missing from this one but if I can compose a suitable bridge after the second chorus it should be fine...
[ He'll worry like stuff like... the actual instrumentation later.
When he needs a break he plays songs he actually knows just to get himself out of the rut, including the one from his most recently returned memory. Sometimes he even gets up and takes everything with him for a change of scenery, going from Executor House to somewhere outside when he feels he needs it... or just wants an excuse to go buy a snack because this is Beast we're talking about after all.
He's still at it even late in the evening (though he's trying to focus on lyrics just as to not be disruptive), so if you're around the Executor House you might catch him either lost in thought as he tries to think of something or dozing off over his work. ]

[ Literally the only song he knows that wasn’t one of Orpheus’ which is.... puzzling in its own right. ]
Though of course with the murky way this whole memory business works there’s too many holes for me to remember anything else about it, much less who that “someone” might be.

[He's experienced similar, and he nods along]
Still, even if you don't remember the person in question... being able to play their song is a memorial of a sort.

[ But there’s... something different about this one. Something about this “Clair de Lune” that makes his heart feel like it’s breaking, even if he doesn’t know why.
He switches back to playing it now, the transition so seamless you might have thought the other song was always a part of it. ]
My apologies though - you are here to listen to my playing not my rambling.

Please, don't apologize. I can't promise any good advice, but I am more than willing to listen to any 'rambling'.

[ Not that he's stopping yet but. You know. Should you need some musical soothing. ]
