Training Log 01: Shiny new powers
It's been a day- or something similar to it. After all, time seemed to be a weak thing here. But it's long enough that the pounding in his head from the attack under the Founation is... manageable. His ribs still ache, but he's not going to let that stop him- if Rei needed them to fight, then he would fight. Especially since he now remembered HOW to fight- a weak memory that came with a few other things. Like that fact that he might be royalty(?), but more useful was his skills with a weapon.
So he goes hunting for a big open area- and every other Executor he sees he mentions his intention: to train and test out these new powers. Eventually he finds what he's looking for: what probably was supposed to be a park, though it was slightly twisted like everything else here. But it was open enough that he probably wouldn't hit any non-combatants. A quick switch to his Executor uniform, massive black armor with a fur lined cloak, and he spins his bone spear like an expert.
How strange to have this knowledge but almost no context. Well, it is what it is. He wonders if any of the others will join him?
((ooc: feel free to tag amoung yourselves as well!))

[He spins the clock hand, nodding and offering it back]
It seems perfect for someone your size. Do you know what handed you are? Right or Left?

[ she takes the weapon and weighs it in her hands, trying to figure out what her body instinctively wants to do. ] I think... right. That feels the most natural.

[Aw, he's blushing, but focusing on the spear work is more important]
Okay, that's good. You'll want to use your right hand at the back of the spear, and your left in the middle. Spead your legs a bit for stability.
[He does the same with his weapon as example.]
Polearms are longer than swords, but if you try to use the entire length you'll lack control. If you want control and power the idea is to use them like a lever, with your off-hand as the turning point. Then you can use your core for the actual swing or thrust.

[ she widens her stance and looks over at Lion several times as she adjusts her posture, her grip on the ranseur, trying to copy him. it's not too hard to get the basic idea from his example, but actually putting it into practice is a lot different. she sucks in a sharp breath and holds it, ranseur poised to thrust. ]
Hyah! [ she jabs it forward — but even keeping in mind Lion's advice, it's hard to keep the driving force to her right arm instead of thrusting with both of her hands. it doesn't come naturally. her left shoulder jerks, control promptly lost. the tip of the ranseur veers to the side of where she was aiming, and she winces. ] Ah— S-sorry! I'll get it right...

[He ponders her thrusts]
I wonder if, perhaps, when you were alive if you were a jouster of some sort. Powerful thrusts like this are more common from a mount. I think.
[He remembers his training, but a lot of the context is still foggy or outright missing]

You know a lot, Lion... Did you do something like this when you were alive?
