Training Log 01: Shiny new powers

It's been a day- or something similar to it. After all, time seemed to be a weak thing here. But it's long enough that the pounding in his head from the attack under the Founation is... manageable. His ribs still ache, but he's not going to let that stop him- if Rei needed them to fight, then he would fight. Especially since he now remembered HOW to fight- a weak memory that came with a few other things. Like that fact that he might be royalty(?), but more useful was his skills with a weapon.

So he goes hunting for a big open area- and every other Executor he sees he mentions his intention: to train and test out these new powers. Eventually he finds what he's looking for: what probably was supposed to be a park, though it was slightly twisted like everything else here. But it was open enough that he probably wouldn't hit any non-combatants. A quick switch to his Executor uniform, massive black armor with a fur lined cloak, and he spins his bone spear like an expert.

How strange to have this knowledge but almost no context. Well, it is what it is. He wonders if any of the others will join him?

[Royal Veil has learned a couple of new things about herself! One is that she can call herself "Royal Veil." The other is that when she was alive she apparently worked in a restaurant. She isn't at all sure how these two things fit together, or how either of them fits the new ability she suddenly has.

What she is sure about is that she wants to try that new ability out and she needs a partner for that.]

Excuse me. Would you be willing to allow me to practice something?

[She should probably be clarifying that it isn't an attack, but nobody's perfect.]

[Kingslayer takes up a fighting stance, holding their blade in front of them as they prepare for a spar.]

Let's GO!

[They are half a second from charging Veil full on. Think fast.]

[Royal Veil thinks fast!]

Very well. [She holds up her staff.] Please strike once with all your strength.

[Royal Veil doesn't think very well, I guess, but fast!]

ONE STRIKE'S ALL IT'LL TAKE TO END THIS! [they roar, slashing at Royal Veil with all their might.

[Royal Veil seems to have some fighting experience in her somewhere, and she manages to get through this experience without being seriously wounded or even losing her grip on her staff. Getting knocked a pretty significant distance and falling over, though? Sure.]

Gracious. I almost hesitate to proceed from here.

What the Hell were you expecting to happen? You barely put your guard up, sheesh.

[Kingslayer walks over to Royal Veil and just... stares at her, not offering a hand up.]

With a staff like that, I'd honestly say you should be fighting from the back lines, not taking me head on. What were you thinking?

[That's all right. She gets up fine on her own.]

I was thinking that, in order to know whether what I am about to do works as I believe it will, I must have something to compare it to.

Oh? And what exactly are you planning to do?

[Kingslayer's voice is somewhere between mocking, genuinely curious, and encouraging. Somehow.]
