Training Log 01: Shiny new powers

It's been a day- or something similar to it. After all, time seemed to be a weak thing here. But it's long enough that the pounding in his head from the attack under the Founation is... manageable. His ribs still ache, but he's not going to let that stop him- if Rei needed them to fight, then he would fight. Especially since he now remembered HOW to fight- a weak memory that came with a few other things. Like that fact that he might be royalty(?), but more useful was his skills with a weapon.

So he goes hunting for a big open area- and every other Executor he sees he mentions his intention: to train and test out these new powers. Eventually he finds what he's looking for: what probably was supposed to be a park, though it was slightly twisted like everything else here. But it was open enough that he probably wouldn't hit any non-combatants. A quick switch to his Executor uniform, massive black armor with a fur lined cloak, and he spins his bone spear like an expert.

How strange to have this knowledge but almost no context. Well, it is what it is. He wonders if any of the others will join him?

((ooc: feel free to tag amoung yourselves as well!))
mementomoritz: that someone is me (did somebody say science?)

[Completely cheerful and unfazed.] Yes!

[She moves closer, taking another look at Pariah's scissors.]

I don't think they're the same kind of scissors at all, though. Mine are definitely medical equipment! Yours are... hmm, maybe for sewing? They look really stylish!

[White frowns a little, turning her sword back and forth to look it over.] I...guess? They sort of have that shape.

Wait, why would scissors be medical equipment? Isn't it supposed to be scalpels for that stuff?
mementomoritz: much (now this won't hurt)

[Medic shakes her head sharply.] That's like saying pencils can't be art supplies because we have paintbrushes for that! They're both used for surgery, but the techniques involved are completely different!

Just look- [She holds up her scissors by way of demonstration.] -this is a shearing edge, for removing excess matter entirely. A scalpel is a cutting edge, for making precision incisions that you might want to sew back up later.

[Both Pariahs recoil in sync with each other, taking a step back when Medic brandishes her weapon.]

Okay, okay!

Serve me right for not being a doctor, JEEZ.
mementomoritz: good day (good friends)

That's okay, I can be a doctor for both of us! [That's not worrying to hear from someone carrying giant scissors or anything...] It turns out I remember being one now.

...really.

[😬😬]

Aren't you kind of...young for that?
mementomoritz: maybe both! (new toys? new friends?)

[personal profile] mementomoritz 2020-08-26 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Statistically, yes! But I can remember getting a full medical education. I can even remember doing surgery!

I'm not certain if they ever actually gave me a medical license or not, but we already dead, so it's probably fine. [N... no?]

[Does the international committee for medical ethics have jurisdiction in purgatory?]

If it didn't matter we wouldn't need a doctor in the first place!!

[PLEASE let her not be the only healer here--]
mementomoritz: leave her out of the yearbook (class photo day)

No, no- we need people qualified to be doctors. Which I am! [Unfortunately.] Just because you don't have your degree yet doesn't mean you didn't go to school, right?

[In her case, it was less not graduating and more not passing the ethical review...]
