Experiment Log 02: Film Theory [Open]
[Anyone passing by the theater in Limbo today, whether out of chance or curiosity, will find that it's running another one of its' "special presentations". In between the usual mix of random gibberish and actual films are two short clips, both featuring the same young girl.]
[Neither of them is a particularly long memory, but it's enough to see that the child in question is unmistakably a much younger Medic.]
[The first is a cheerful little memory, in it's own... unique way. At least the cat seems fine.]
[It's the second one where things get a little uncomfortable.]
[The source of the memories in question, once someone has eventually clued her in that she's getting another fifteen minutes of fame, can be found sitting in one of the theater seats and absently eating popcorn while staring at the screen, lost in thought.]
I didn't remember until I saw... Was the video the cause, or did it appear here because I was going to remember soon? [Thankfully, she doesn't seem too bothered by her personal business being shown publicly, but she does seem pretty wrapped up in contemplating it.]
[Alternately, if you show up later, you may hear a lot of thuds and clatters coming from the back.]
[Apparently, she's trying to get answers from the source by locating and breaking into the projector room. Her success is... mixed at best.]
[On the bright side, she left her giant bag of popcorn unattended. Free movie snacks?]

She taught me a lot!
[Including, apparently, the basics of medical consent forms and why people need to sign them before you can get your scalpel on.]
[Thank fuck for Charity Moritz.]

Really? Well, I suppose that makes sense as I am a father. Looking out for little ones is what parents and big siblings do after all.
[ Supposed to anyway. ]
It's a little funny you say that though; I'm actually the youngest of my own siblings. Just like you seem to be.
[ ...wait is he? All he knows right now is that he has at least two older sisters... but saying that feels right to him so it's probably the correct assumption. ]

[She pauses, looking thoughtful.] I wonder what our parents were doing during all that, anyway? I guess they must have been busy! [...sure, let's go with that.]
[She laughs at Beast's admission.] I guess we have something in common, then! What were your sisters like, can you remember?

[ He tilts his head up and tries to remember. ]
My eldest sister... raised me in place of our mother. I remember saying that she had a knack for being able to find me no matter where I hid or how lost I got... she would always come for me.
[ Except when she was forever lost to him anyway.
His casts his eyes back downwards. ]
And as for my other sister, she--

"This is no one's fault but your own, baby brother."
No. Don't think about it. Don't try to think about her at all. Don't think about the fire at the village, don't think about Patroclus holding you tight after a nightmare, don't think about whatever you told him that made him so angry, don't think about why you left...
Because the longer you can put off thinking about it the happier you'll be. ]
...
[ Sorry Medic but Beast is just gonna... dissociate for a bit. ]

[She looks him up and down with a professional eye- still standing upright, breathing rate not notably elevated or depressed, no notable changes in coloration- and carefully, slowly waves a hand in front of his face to see if his eyes track the motion at all.]
no subject
Ah-- [ He tilts his head to look at her better. ] A-Apologies, Lady Medic. What was I saying...?

A topic specifically related to family members? And then you went temporarily unresponsive. No slurred speech or dizziness, though, so that eliminates some of the more alarming possibilities!
[Medic: for when you don't want to check Web MD, but you'd still like someone to audibly wonder if you might have a fatal brain condition every time you get a headache.]

[ YEAH JUST. GONNA GLAZE OVER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT AND ACTING LIKE HE TALKED ABOUT THE OTHER SISTER ALREADY. SURE. ]
no subject
[...even though now she's really, really curious.]
...Did you have any pets? [When in doubt, turn the topic of conversation to cats.]
no subject
[ Though Patroclus and the other Beastials were his family in the end... did they have any pets back then-- ]
...Oh, wait. There was at one time a small herd of dogsheep that the village I lived in took care of. I suppose that counts?

[This is VITALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION, okay. She has to know, for science.]

Extremely fluffy. And soft. Their wool makes some of the best clothing.
And they absolutely loved being petted and getting headpats. You could probably pay for their services in belly rubs if you found the right one.
[ He tilts his head up reminiscing. ]
They used to get so excited when they saw me and chased me around all over the place trying to pile on me.

I have never met them, and I love them. ...I could probably make some, if you found me a dog and a sheep. [...Maybe the lack of animals in Purgatory isn't necessarily a bad thing.]
