It's Vegas, baby! Oh wait, I already made that joke on the location page... With Esme's iron-fisted reign brought to an end and the Executors given time to take a very well-earned break, it finally comes down to descend to the next layer of Purgatory. Thankfully, with this being the group as a whole's second descent, things are a little less nerve-wracking this time around... maybe. Hopefully. ... Probably. Welcome to Avaritia. Feel free to use this arrival log to chronicle your initial misadventures in the Greed Layer of Purgatory. Wolfsbane's off to search the casino and judge people the entire time she's there.

Is she searching the casino for anything in particular, or just keeping an eye on the Specters?

More checking out the area; is there anything that stands out (hidden hallways whether or not they lead to pizza, particular machines that Spectres are getting oddly lucky or unlucky with, art installations that look suspicious, etc) or anything listing who the proprietor is?

There's no indication anywhere who the proprietor might be – for all intents and purposes this place might well have sprung up fully formed from the ether... which, given that this is Purgatory, is probably exactly how things happened.

If she's looking carefully enough though, Anna will eventually spot an injured-looking Specter butterfly perched atop one of the machines, its wings trembling. It chimes at her softly.

One of these things?

[She pulls out an orange and tears chunks of peel off with her nails, discarding them in the nearest potted plant. She holds out the orange to the butterfly. They eat those, right? Come on...]

The Specter... makes absolutely no move to come closer. Looks like orange isn't the way to go here. Make sure you don't waste that fruit, though, Anna! Get your five a day!

Ugh, fine. [She shoves it back into her bag and holds her hand out.] Given you're Rei's, maybe I should have gone with fries. Come here, will you?

The butterfly still doesn't move, oddly enough. It just flutters its wings and chimes at her in an insistent sort of way from its perch atop the slot machine.

Muttering curses in multiple languages, she's going to try and climb right up there to see just what is so important on top of the slot machine. They're Spectres, they won't care, right?

Well, the Specters might not care... but the machine does. Wolfsbane isn't exactly super heavy, but her clambering is still a bit more than what these machines are built to withstand and it promptly sets off the anti-tampering alarm in the machine.

This causes a ripple of alarm around the casino and if Wolfsbane looks out, she'll see a few security guards starting to head her way.

Oh, great. She grabs for the butterfly with one hand and tries to jump off the machine and run for it. With all these people, she should be able to dive into the crowd and slip out.

The butterfly dodges out of the way of her grasping hand with an alarmed sort of chime and promptly flutters away. Whoops.

Thankfully, with Wolfsbane's enhanced speed and mobility, it's a cinch to break away from the security pursuit and make her way out but... well, maybe don't head back into the casino for a few days if you don't want a stern talking to from the guards.
