I haven't met many of you. My name is Monarch. I struck the final blow against Esme.
[ He can say that, right? It's a fact. Lion and Ruin did so much - but the one with no choice but to do it had been Monarch. ]
By that point, she had turned into a monster. But when I hit her for the last time, I gained memories. Not mine, but hers.
Esme had a sibling. Lapis. It's Lapis we saw on screens in the Underside. Esme and Lapis were chasing a dream of stardom together, but in the end, only Lapis was chosen. Esme couldn't accept that. She'd hated Lapis since Lapis was born. Esme died full of those feelings.
One instance isn't enough to build a theory upon, but as we search for the Authority of this Layer, people should be aware this occurred. It's possible other Authorities will become monstrous when confronted and we'll regain their memories. It's also possible Esme chose to show me specifically for other reasons, but if so, that's something that might happen to others, as well.
Thanks for your time.
[ And - sent.
Those patrolling Avaritia on their quest for information may find one (1) small boy hiding in an alley spying on the business district. He keeps moving like he wants to check his phone and then stopping his hand. ]

No, that's not why he posted. ]
The fact the memory share occurred concerns me more.
no subject
Maybe... don't listen to anything he has to say about sibling relationships.]
Things are confusing enough, not having our own memories, never mind mixing things up with someone else's. That is definitely concerning.
no subject
[ Why him? Because he happened to be the one to strike her last? Or is there some other cause, either within Esme's motivations - or himself? ]

Nothing that Wolfsbane wants to address, anyway. Hm.]
She always did want to live forever. Maybe she wanted to haunt us out of spite.

[ It was awful. It was absolutely flat-out awful, and he doesn't want anyone to walk unprepared into it like he did. ]

[ Yep! That's Esme for ya!!! ]
Are you feeling okay, Monarch? It must have been a shock.
no subject
[ The fact he received someone else's memories wasn't the worst shock, though. That would be the content, at first because of his confusion...
...and then, later, because of clarity. ]
May I ask you another question, Rei-san?
no subject
[ Whether she'll actually be able to give him an answer is, of course, another question entirely. ]
no subject
[ He has heard Lion's theory, and it's perfectly sound. Somewhat encouraging (after being terrifying), in fact. But....To confirm that answer... ]

@materia_medica
i'm trying to record as much data as possible about how all the different types of the dead here function, so any information is helpful ^-^
no subject
[ He's happy to provide Authority details, but first, he has to
walk into a pitask about her research! ]no subject
[Oh no. Science mode activated.]
right away you've got specters, eidolons, and revenants
then you've got eidolons becoming executors or authorities or both
there's all the different subtypes of revenants- not to mention those revenants that seem to be unique examples instead of conforming to a prior type
and that's just the people!!
we STILL don't know what's going on with that peacock esme had OR where all these stores keep getting meat
where! are the cows!!!
(IF THE LAND OF THE DEAD CAN CREATE BEEF EX NIHILO THAT JUST RAISES FURTHER QUESTIONS)
so it's very exciting, really :D :D
no subject
I see.
[ he may be stuck on the phrase beef ex nihilo
not because he doesn't understand it, but because it suddenly exists ]

@beast
Fighting isn't easy and experiencing memories that are not even your own while being the one to finish things must have been quite difficult to deal with.
I thank you for having the courage to stand against her and for sharing this with us though. Any information we can get it is valuable.
no subject
[ ....beheaded her.... ]
Attacked.
no subject
That is a little alarming. I believe the revenants are all specters that couldn't move on, but that almost sounds like it was on command...
no subject
.....I'm sorry. That's conjecture.

@Brainiac
But yeah. Monstrous authorities whose memories we take on destroying - that's, um, a THING. And probably going to show up again and again, huh.
no subject
It's likely.
Whoever confronts the Avaritia Authority should be careful.
no subject
It's money, you know? It's important, but being THIS all-encompassing seems really cuckoo to me.
no subject
I wish we could pinpoint which Specter might be the greediest.
[ He's examining the banks, but....banks and casino. Two major hubs, instead of one. Connected, or not?
And would the Authority be the person who has the most - or who wants the most? ]
