[Ruin might take to snagging food from a local place and bringing it over when Lion usually gets his break. Just to get away from the nonstop clamor of being on the casino floor. And he can make back whatever he spends on their meal in 15-20 minutes so it's really nothing to him.

He might also be adding to Lion's little petty cash fund in the evenings, though he's stashing a pretty significant chunk of his winnings just to make sure they have the means to fund whatever shenanigans they get up to next. Until one day he shows up with a bag hanging off his arm, grinning like an idiot and balancing a couple of shawarma wraps on top of a box of finger foods.]

Lion! [Normally he'd wave but uuuuh.... oh they really over stuffed these pitas?? He might be scattering little bits of tabouleh as he walks.]

Ruin! Here, let me-

[He moves to help carry things. It's been... surprisingly nice, the regularity of Ruin's visits.]

[If he didn't take a break to take Lion lunch, and therefore eat himself, he'd be sitting at a black jack table for 10 hours. Sometimes he just needs to turn his mental calculator off for a little bit. Once Lion takes the pitas his balancing of the box is a lot less precarious and he flashes the blond a grin.]

C'mon. I think you're going to like this.

[There's a small covered pavilion area near the theater they've been using, something that's clearly meant to host live music or little pop up events but in the meanwhile it's an area to sit that is protected from the wet and just out of the way enough to be a little quieter, the more chaotic sounds drowned out by the steady drizzle on the tent top.]

[He does his best to protect the pitas with his arm as they walk, and once safe he peers at the box]

Have you been shopping?

[The box gets plopped on the table and opened up to reveal a stack of dolma, falafel, and small plastic dishes of garlic sauce and hummus as well as another smaller container that Ruin carefully sets aside with a smirk.]

Maybe a little. Dealer went on break like an hour ago but I figured you'd be stuck for a bit yet so I went poking around at some stuff.

[He plucks a pack of pita out of the bag first and slaps it down on the table.]

But food first or these are going to end up everywhere.

Oh yes, of course.

[He sits, eyeing the food]

I suppose saying 'I've never seen food like this before' would be redundant since I wouldn't remember if I had or not?

Right? Doesn't seem familiar to me either but it smelled so good.

[He doesn't even know what meat the shawarma is but he's stuffing it in his face. Now. Messily. Oops?]

It does...

[He takes a big bite and almost loses half the stuffing with a surprised 'ghngh!' Once he manages to wrangle it]

What's in the box you - hm?

[He was chewing and swallowing mechanically, but now that his mouth is clear he actually pauses to notice that it... tingles?]

What...

[If the indecent noises Ruin is making is anything to go by it's actually pretty damn delicious, even if he is struggling to keep tzatziki from dripping down his face. He's halfway through his second (absurd) bite when Lion pauses and he makes a little sound in his throat, curious. Though it takes a moment for him to be able to swallow so he can say anything.]

Hmm? What's wrong? Don't like it?

[Did he mess up????]

No, no it's not that it's... well. This happened before you arrived but, I actually have almost no sense of taste. It has been the case since-

[he winced at the still only partial memory]

-since I was a living child. I mostly enjoy food through scent and texture. But this... I can feel a strange sensation in my mouth. Almost like spiciness, but not? I like it, but it surprised me.

[Ruin's mind goes two very different places with that information.... one of which makes him blush a tiny bit. Just a little. It's fine.]

Oh... I didn't realize- I mean it's probably the salady stuff? That's a lot of herbs. But if you like that....

[He finally pulls open the bag of warm foil wrapped pita, tearing off a chunk and dabbing just a tiny tiny bit of the garlic sauce on it.]

Try that.

[He notices the blush but before he can question it Ruin is offering him the pita. He sniffs it, eyes widening]

It smells very strong. Hmm...

[He pops it in his mouth, nodding slowly]

Oh... yes, I can't say if I'm actually 'tasting' it, but it certainly feels like something.

[He looks so pleased]

Feels like fire.

[Ruin laughs at that, he can only handle just the tiniest bit of it because the garlic is so strong but it that's the sort of thing Lion likes then... more power to him.]

I think I like this one more. [Tearing off a chunk of pita and slathering it in hummus before shoving it in his mouth.] 's so smooth

Smooth...

[He tries it next, a pleased glitter in his eyes- then slathers BOTH on his next piece and just starts going ham]

[Ruin just laughs and lets him go all out. There's plenty of food for both of them, even if they are big guys. He's going to try to finish his wrap before setting in on the rest, though. It'll save him from spilling a disaster of hummus and tzatziki all over himself at least.

They've been doing this often enough to be able to just settle into companionable silence while they eat, something Ruin is... surprisingly grateful for, considering how much he seems to run his mouth.]

[And Lion isn't chatty without purpose, so it works out. It's not until they are nearly done:]

How has the casino been today? Going well?

[Ruin grins wolfishly at that question, leaning back so he can drag a fistful of chips out of his pocket. Black and orange, a couple greens... and then he fishes out two bright golden yellow chips and holds them up.]

And that's just profits.

[And if Dimitri squints he'll realize that, while the blacks are 100 markers the gold.... are 1000.]

Goddess... it's too bad it's not useful outside this layer, but if you wished you could live comfortably here for years.

It's not that impressive, it's all just math.

[A dismissive shrug as he stuffs the chips back in his pocket. Then he picks up the bag finally, peeking inside while he shuffles through the contents.]

But! It means I can splurge so I got you a couple things.

[And then he pulls out a shirt, folded haphazardly, and tosses it to Lion.]

Gifts? Ruin there was no need...

[He catches the shirt, head tilting. True he hadn't bought new clothing since Ruin dragged him out- but he had enough where he could wear something clean each day. What else could he need? Was Ruin saying he smelled bad again?

Then he unfolds the shirt and stares at it. For a moment he looks flabbergasted, then confused by the pun. Then maybe annoyed, then back to surprised... and finally he can't help it anymore and just... bursts out laughing? Harder than Ruin has probably ever seen before.]

Me... meow-it?! Ruin, honestly-!?

[He's very pleased???]

[He knows there was no need but it was stupid and hilarious and he had to get it. Don't judge him.

As soon as Lion starts laughing Ruin grins, something almost like pride snaking under the constant pervasive self-doubt. He tosses the sunglasses over to him as well, gradient aviators that match the ones the cat on the shirt is wearing.]

C'mon I had to. It was too perfect not to get it for you.

Other than my name I'm not very much like a cat, you realize?

[They are under an awning... so it should be fine. He starts pulling off his shirt- exposing his gnarly chest scar and the Executor mark with it]

No, you're more like a pupp-

[Ruin's laughing and grinning and- choking on his words as Lion just peels his shirt off like it's no big deal. Amber eyes widen in surprise, pleased certainly but still surprised, gaze dropping down to admire the blond's body absolutely shamelessly.

And then his gaze lands on the executor mark and... oh such a lovely view, spoiled.]

You have a crest?!?

Crest? Do you mean my Executor mark?

[Said with his shirt still half off]

Yeah... it's a crest symbol, like mine.

[You've been here longer than him, sir. How does he know this and you don't?]
